Propane cook tops

I have a periodic problem with the 2 burner propane burners lighting off on my PC34. It is inconsistent and seemingly unrelated to when last used, i.e. time for gas to reach stove after long disuse. When pushing down on the burner control to light it at times it will not light despite repeated and/o...

May 19 & 20 at the Tides Inn. The Tides Inn is holding 10 slips wide enough for a PDQ but owners need to contact the Tides dockmaster - dockmaster@tidesinn.com or 800 843 3743 to reserve your slip now as they will not continue to hold the slips indefinately. There is a protected anchorage within...

Agree probably better to lock the shaft by putting it in reverse. That is what I always did on my sailboats. Hopefully you wouldn't need to run on 1 engine often and I haven't tried it but wonder what kind of speed she'll make.

Agree on the little rubber pieces...worthless. They are on the 34 and except in dead calm we get spray on deck all the time. have not heard of anyone mounting serious spray defectors though on these boats. Would likely mean drilling holes in the hole for the bolts which is never good.

New to boating

At PDQ U last May I was struck by the number of folks new to boating or who had smaller open boats before buying a PC34. They all seemed to take to the boat and had no real problems coming south from Canada. Suggest you take a power squadron course or USCG aux. course on basics before getting your b...

Chesapeake Bay PDQ owners chapter

I recently sent out email inquiries to both sail and power PDQ owners about forming a Chesapeake Bay owners chapter and the responses were positive. Next will hope to arrange a rendevous and maybe a cruise for next season. If you are reading this and keep your boat on the Chesapeake, but didn't hear...

I have often heard that it is difficult to get 4 strokes repairs in the Bahamas. They are getting lighter. I have a older Honda 15 HP 4 stroke and put a triple purchase block on that end of my 10' Apex lite rib and it works fine. You want to be sure to secure the dink from any lateral movement thoug...

Chesapeake Bay PDQ owners chapter

I don't have every one of the PDQ owners' email addresses who keep their boats on the Chesapeake but have been asked by POQ to inquire as to interest in forming a regional chapter. If you have already heard from me don't bother to reply but if not: 1) would you be interested - reply to jstalnaker@wi...

Chris Calver's email is engineering@pdqyachts.com. Chris is one of the original designers there and you are correct has had to take on several jobs as others left. As a recent PC34 purchaser I had some intiial problems getting to Chris but none since and found him responsive and informative. There a...

Formation of Chesapeake Bay Chapter of POA

Trying to determine if there is enough interest amongst PDQ owners both power and sail on the Chesapeake Bay to form a local chapter of the PDQ Owners Assoc. Would appreciate responses with email addresses and the type of PDQ owned.
Send to jstalnaker@cox.net.
Thanks
