Re: Wheel size

Thanks Jim, I sold Steel Sails 36067 and bought a Freydis 49. I am in the process of converting it from tiller to bulkhead wheel and they were recomending a 40" wheel which i thought was quite large. My old PDQ was all i could reference to. Think i'll go with a 36" Do not know if the new o...

Re: Replaced the 9.9's today

Sam, i'll have to get back to you on the width measurement, i'll check it this weekend. It has a tab/small plate button that pushes. I gave the assembly a liberal coating of corrosion X. On a side note one of the reasons i replaced the motors was the siezing of the lock on the old ones. They use the...

Re: FL, GA, SC I need to measure Shrouds to replace missing rig

Check with Rick Zern Rigging in pensacola 850.261.4129 He replaced the mast, and all the Standing rigging on wake up ( 1998 PDQ 36 ) in 2005. We got the details from PDQ and ordered a new OEM package. With a bit of luck he will be able to find the file on the boat. If he cant find it, message me bac...

Replaced the 9.9's today

Followed Tom Long and ordered them from Shipyard island marina. XEHA converted to remotes. Kept my original 7 pin harness. Also changed out the cables with yamaha premier 11 one 14ft set one 10 ft set. Dropped them in pretty quickly, they seam slightly smaller than my 2004 motors. They also sit lowe...

Re: Coastal Living

I have that issue, am happy to mail it to you. Not sure of the best way to send me your address but i'll leave that to you.
The boats are really small in the photo. Wouldn't have recognised the PDQ if you hadn't told me it was there.

Re: auto helm

All installed and wired. Only problem was the holes for the old bracket don't match the new one. about 1/2 " off. Don't know if the wheel diameter is slightly different or if the 4000 was fitted a little tight. Took around 3 hours plus an hour to put all the cabinetry back. ( New Fluxgate insta...

coach roof rings

I have 2 moon shaped pad eye rings on the top of the coach roof. They are connected to the aft stainless steel rods that tie into the structure. (The forward rods tie to the shrouds)
What were these originally designed for?
Mine are not used.

Re: auto helm

Just figured i'd try the "latest and greatest". I ordered it and will post the results. My old 4000 kept losing heading and going to standby. Anything electronic i think its better to buy new than pay someone to trouble shoot it. Of course if its something you can do yourself then its diff...

Anyone tried a smart pilot X5, thought about going to hydraulic using the guideline on pdq36.com but it looks like a lot of work. This smart pilot looks like a real quick install. ( Hopefully that comment won't come back and haunt me).
