Re: FOR SALE - 1996 PDQ LRC $139,900

Magic Dragon has been sold and will be moving south this spring. Thanks to one and all for your condolences, they are very deeply appreciated. I'll probably miss the forum more than I miss the boat - you know what they say about the 2 happiest days. My new boat is 8 ft long, royal blue & inflata...

Re: PDQ OWNERS GET TOGETHER IN ANNAPOLIS ?

I will do my best to attend, visiting friends in Annapolis anyway. Will be nice to get together and talk boats again. Wonderful to have this owner's group - one of the best things about owning a PDQ!

Re: Reading Light Replacements

Russ & Nancy are correct - replacing/rewiring each fixture is not necessary. Pull out your existing bulb and examine it - most of ours were marked with a designation (like 60w on the regular house light bulbs). If it isn't on the bulb, examine the fixture closely and you might find it there. The...

Re: Reading Light Replacements

We purchased lots of our replacement LEDs online on EBay - use the current light bulb designation and search using that plus the LED - you'll find lots of suppliers, and they are designed to replace the standard bulbs in your existing fixtures. We were able to replace almost every bulb, but only aft...

Re: Fridge replacement

Look on EBay under RV fridge and you'll find some bargains, but make sure seller has high feedback rating (at least 99%). Also http://greatlakesskipper.com has some, though not any Nova Kool at the moment. Good luck!

Bulkhead veneer cracking near salon doors

Hello, all - we've just noticed cracks in the bulkhead wall that surrounds the two doors going into both salons. Due to the lightning strike last year, we went over all structural and system very well during last summer. We are quite sure that these were not there last year, and have happened fairly...

Refrigeration Update

After repeated visits from the yard's technician, and replacing all the foam rubber tape surrounding the fridge door, buying a new hatch support from West Marine, finding a plug for the drain, and tightening then locking down the closure latch, we've finally determined that our freon pressure is OK,...

Re: Sail reconditioning

We found a company that does this while visiting the Annapolis Sail Show, but then our sail repair yard suggested another company and I think they did ship them to PA. Our experience with cleaning our old sails was not a good one - the season after this was done, we had seams rip out of the main sai...

Re: Replacing the Flybridge Helmchair?

We found two color coordinated Tempress Elite Helm Seats last year on Ebay for $350 for the pair. They fit the posts perfectly, but we also replaced the slides since the aluminum had corroded. We've been very happy.

Poll owners on their Fridge Capacity

One of the things that got fried in our lightning strike last season was the Dometic fridge. Our yard replaced the old one with an Adler Barbour CU2000 compressor and a VD151 plate that has not worked well since installation, despite replacing it already once under warranty and several service calls...

Re: Whitby to NYC

No idea how long it will take if you go east, out the St. Lawrence and down. We did take our LRC from NYC to Lake Erie. I would allow 10 days minimum. From Toronto south and east to Oswego, where you would catch the Erie Canal, could possibly be made overnight in a 24 hour sail, or in a couple days ...
