Re: Flexofold propellers
Wow, that is an extreme pitch. Are you sure you're not confusing pitch with the length of the blade? As I said in our discussion in the Diesel forum, the recommended FOF blade for the PDQ LRC is 15" (length) x 12 (pitch). On the hub of the blade it should be stamped, e.g. 1512R for a 15" long x 12 p...

Are your FoF props still for sale? 2 or 3 blade? Pitch?

Re: Re-pitching propellers
Thanks for the plug Doubloon. Mongoose, this sounds pretty much like my experience when I bought the boat. However, I had non-folding three blade props, 15" x 12 pitch. The boat could only reach 2800 RPM and there was black smoke indicating the engines were laboring. I had the prop shop re-pitch the...

Re: Charging from Portable Generator
I presume your Xantrex is a Freedom 20, like mine? Do you have the manual? If not I can send you a pdf for both the Freedom 20 and the Link 2000. There is nothing in the manual about requiring a "pure sine wave" input. The manual does say that it is sensitive to reduced voltage input, so if there is...

Re: Charging from Portable Generator
I have a Honda EU2000 that I use sometimes to charge the bank, as you describe. It works very well. With the correct cable, the output of the gen plugs into the shore power inlet. The AC output of the generator looks the same as shore power and your Xantrex should detect it. There is a charge button...

Re: Genoa and Assymetrical only speeds and handling
I agree with Thinwater. On his recommendation, I installed a 120% genoa when I replaced my sails. I bought a new main, genoa and spinnaker from Mack Sails. I can't imagine using a 180% genoa, that sounds unmanageable. I did this right after I bought the boat, so I never experienced the self tacking ...

Re: Cockpit Door Latch Replacement
Yep, one of the first things I replaced on Terrapin.
I got the reverse bevel with flush strike.

Re: Replacing Mashead Wiring
I have run wire down the mast twice. Actually the riggers did it while I helped. The first time was for the installation of a B&G wind vane at the masthead and running a N2K backbone cable down the mast (with the connector removed). The N2K cable is about the size of a coax cable. We attached the ca...

Did Multihullnets do the installation or did you? If the latter, how tough a job is it to get it nice and tight?

Folding props?
Any PDQ 32 LRC owners out there with folding or feathering props? I'm wondering what your experience has been?

Re: Trampoline replaced
I checked out multihullsnets.com and they actually have the PDQ32 listed on their price sheet, very cool. It looks like the Square Hole Mesh is the closest to OEM and runs about $1000, not including lacing or hardware. May I ask what type of netting you got and are you happy with it? Did you do the ...

Re: Remove hot water heater
I think I would try an angle grinder with a cut-off blade to cut the tank apart rather than a torch.
