Do you have an adjustable forestay?
I recently got new sails from Mack Sails, main, 120% genoa and spiniker. I also got a new roller furling. Of course, when they put the new roller furling on, they put on a new head stay. They matched the length with the old stay. This was done on the hard. Once in the water and testing the new sails...

Re: 3m Vinyl - Trim-line
It's all doable, just takes some elbow grease.
I'm curious, did someone sail your PDQ to Australia or was it shipped?

Re: 3m Vinyl - Trim-line
I spent 5 days on the hard last November removing vinyl stripes including some wide curves running all along the sides. It was 20 years old and faded and cracked. I must have tried every solvent known to man and every technique posted on forums. The problem with old vinyl is that the vinyl tends to ...

These lights sound perfect. I just ordered a set. Thanks for the tip!

Re: Changing running lights and courtesy lights to LED on PDQ 32
Virtually all of these bulbs can be replaced with LED's. Just take out the bulb and measure carefully and order the LED equivalent. No need to change out the fixture. This is a good source of LED bulbs:

Re: 32 LRC prop pitch
Update, I used Coastal Prop in Ft Myers. The props on my 32 LRC are three bladed, 15 x 12. With Yanmar 2GM20s it was only getting 2800 rpm at WOT, clean bottom, clean props. The engines would also smoke. Randy at Coastal performed a calculation based on the max RPM of the 2GM20s and a transmission g...

Re: mainsail
Drew, this looks like a good solution for the outhaul. I also have the same issue. Do you have a source for reasonably priced jammer cleats? Did you just screw them into the boom?

32 LRC prop pitch
I'm curious what prop size and pitch are on your PDQ 32 LRC and what rpm are you getting WOT? My 32 LRC has a three blade prop, 15" diameter, 12 pitch. It only gets 2800 rpm WOT. The Yanmar 2GM20's are supposed to go to 3600 rpm max and develop max HP at 3400. Thus, I think I'm overproped.

Re: PDQ32+
Looks nice. I'm thinking of having it done on my new 32 LRC. I'm thinking that with the extra weight in the LRC this would be even more of a benefit. Amytom, was yours a DIY or did you have it done? I have zero experience with fiberglass and will need to find someone in Florida to do it. Any recomme...

Blocking for PDQ 32 LRC
Well, I finally did it. I bought a '97 PDQ 32 LRC, previously named Island Fever, soon to be re-named Terrapin. She will be located in Punta Gorda and kept on the hard this first summer at Safe Cove Boat Storage (5 months). My first question: The PDQ 32 manual recommends supporting the boat with two...

May I ask why you replaced the Yamaha's with Tohatsu? How do they differ?
Thanks

Re: Yamaha 8 vs 9.9
I believe that at one point the 8 was the only thing available that would fit. The 9.9 at that point was a detuned 15 and too big. I could be wrong though. The two boats I'm looking at were well after the 9.9 was standard. One is a '95 and one is a 2000. The ad for the 2000 boat says the Yamaha 8's...

Yamaha 8 vs 9.9
I'm still looking at PDQ 32's and I have seen quite a few with Yamaha 8s instead of 9.9s. Are the 8's just 9.9s with different carburation? I'm not sure why someone would want to sacrifice HP, however small. Is there another reason why one would choose the 8 over the 9.9? Price, fuel economy etc? Sh...

Cockpit table?
I am in the market for a PDQ 32 and looking at all the different boats, I have yet to see one with a table in the cockpit, though I'm sure that some of you have solved that problem with a removable pedestal or something. Eating out in the cockpit at a table is one of my favorite times on a boat, asi...

PDQ's at Strictly Sail?
Hello I have been lurking on this board for a couple of years, learning everything I can about PDQ (32s and 36's). I've bareboated Lagoons and Mahe's, and looked at several PDQs but have yet to sail on one. I will be at Strictly Sail in Miami and have a free day on Tuesday the 18th. I thought I'd ch...
