Thanks for that! I'll let you know how the pressure testing goes.
(Not sure if the coolant froze over the winter)

Re: CONVERSION TO LITHIUM BATTERY
We're looking to do the same lithium conversion. Maybe we can have someone come in to advise all of us at the same time?

Northern Lights Genset - Losing Coolant
Our genset is losing about a half cup of coolant per hour of runtime. I can't find any evidence of coolant leaking under the genny, so I'm guessing it going out with the seawater/exhaust? History (that may help to diagnose): - After being on the hard for the Canadian winter, the oil filter seal fai...

Re: Turbo Installation Question / Troubleshooting
Sea trial SUCCESS! We're back up to 3200rpm. No more black smoke or oily exhaust discharge. I didn't get your last msg until after reassembly Nick - I'll get back in there and clean the exhaust cooler too.
Thanks again for all the comments and help.

Re: Turbo Installation Question / Troubleshooting
UPDATE on our RPM issue: Before tackling the turbo swap out, I tried a recommended SeaFoam "hot bath" fuel injector treatment process - that didn't help - maybe made it worse. After having done the hot bath I was now getting black smoke at 2200rpms. So, swapping out the turbo it is. And it...

Re: Turbo Installation Question / Troubleshooting
Thanks guys.
Nick, no, we're not getting any black smoke, just the black oily mess. The turbo wasn't recently replaced, I just have a spare.
I'll see what I can learn about the injectors... just to be able to have a relatively educated conversation with a mechanic.

Turbo Installation Question / Troubleshooting
Hey all. I'm looking for reassurance that I'm capable of swapping out a turbo (that might be causing us problems). I can't find step-by-steps for a turbo swap-out (110hp Yanmars), so I'm looking for any special instructions on how to. Hopefully it's a simple unbolt/unclamp, remove, replace, bolt/cla...

Re: Aluminum Gunnel Rail
Hey BJ. I was looking too - I was told they're no longer available, so I just finished refinishing ours. They were pretty heavily damaged, bent badly in one spot, chewed away in many, scratches everywhere. I just refinished the lower section, but I might hit the top with primer and paint at a later ...

Hey BJ. I just did some repairs to mine as well. They came out very well with the filler, primer and paint I was advised to use.

Re: Decal striping removal, replacement, sourcing
Dapper indeed! We're still on the hard and rolling thru a similar list. QUESTION : The unsundamaged gelcoat (where the previous name used to be) is pristine compared to the rest of the boat. Any tricks to get it to dull to at least come closer to fading in? Or does it remain forever as an homage to ...

Re: Decal striping removal, replacement, sourcing
Just ordered our new decal set! Made some edits, and trying a few new things. Used 3M vinyl tape 471 for the bottom pin striping: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00K2Z5N2I?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details (I've got lots extra if anyone needs some) reflective white for the 1" and 5/8"...
