Trojans T 105 ( Deep Cycle 6 volt lead acid ) lasted 8 + years and are available here for $123.00 each.
The West Marine equivalent also lasted 8 years, but cost much more.. So I stick with Trojans. Never had a bad one so far.

What is the difference between the Xantrex Freedom 458 and the Xantrex Freedom SW2012 ?
I see the technical difference in the catalog, but will it connect to the electrical system of my old SW 2012 with out wire changes?
Will the 458 wire connections be the same as the older SW 2012?

Re: FL PDQ Owners
Matt Young, This is a little late, but we have a PDQ 36 LRC. We live in Pensacola, FL. We would be glad to show you our boat and talk PDQ's and cruising if you are ever in this area. We love our boat and usually make a 3 month or so trip to the Keys each year. Plan to go to the Bahama's this winter....

Re: Articles for 1st Quarter 2010 Newsletter
Eric, Just a note to encourage you. We have just now got back on the forum so don't have much to offer at this time. We are hauled out for a bottom job and hull paint. Plans to do local sailing during hurricane season and Bahamas this winter, maybe up to your area next year. It has been 20 years sin...

Chain plate for baby stay (inner stay)
Ed and Linda, Thanks for the reply. I imagine you are probably right, but I hope not. lol As soon as I have recovered from my surgery enough to crawl around on my stomach I will peel away more fabric and see. Our boat had major repairs, by PDQ, to one hull that appears to have included the berth are...

I thought I had psoted this before, but I don't see it. The bulkhead bewteen the two forward berths that the baby stay chain plate bolts to appears to be fiber glass covered with a thin plywood vaneer ,some foam and carpet on our boat. I see others have said it was plywood. Comments? We have had a l...

The advice to check your windlass is right. The gypsy usually works with only one size of chain. In my case it is 5/16 BBB. I have been using 100 ft of chain and 200 ft of 9/16 rode with a bridle and a devils claw. I am increasing my chain to 200' so that I can anchor on all chain since my gyspy wor...

Chicagocat fuel leak
Brendan,
Where was your fuel leak? I have a similar problem now. My leak "seems " to be from the high pressure line fitting out of the injector pump. Kind of hard to tell untill I can spend some time watching.
Thanks, Tex
