Re: Twists in the jib sheet
Boy, would that be an easy fix..........when was the last time that happened?! I'm not going to be on the boat for a few months but I'll give it a try and post the results (if I remember!).

Re: Twists in the jib sheet
Thanks for the ideas! All my running rigging appears to be original (1995) so I'm probably due for some new line anyway but I will try the swapping out ends before my next line purchase. The jib block at the clew of my headsail spins on its shackle easily so I don't think it's a hardware issue but I...

Twists in the jib sheet
My jib sheet gets twists in it behind the block of the self tending jib clew. Once a few twists are present the line will not slide over each other and the jib car will not move to the correct position. Twisting the bl0ck doesn't help, it just twists back up again. I undo the knot at the jib track, ...

replacement frig
It's been almost a year since I've been on this web-site, sorry for the really late reply. Did you get the frig replaced? We found the same frig to replace ours but it didn't have the 12 volt capability (exact same size though). IT CAN BE DONE, but not easily! You MUST remove the frig door. Cover an...

installing vents
I know this is an old topic but if anyone calls it up here's what I did. I installed two vents in the aft cabin overhead hatches (port and starboard). To cut the holes, I used a Roto-zip tool. First time I had ever used one. Holes came out great and have had no leakage. The Roto-zip tool does creat ...

Thanks for the info. Since two go to each side I just removed one from each side to get the lengths. The Teleflex numbers were far enough up on both cables that without removing them they could not be seen. 11' for port side and 8' for starboard (32' PDQ). I'll tape the two new ones to the old one t...

9.9 Yamaha cowling causes the engine to starve and quit
I had the same problem several years ago. Seemed really weird. After much messing about, we found one small peice of tubing at the rear of the engine was not pushed onto its fitting. It was hard to see, if I remember right, we could only see it from a dinghy. It was hard to put back on too! One of t...

Length of control cables / New control box
I'm replacing the old Morse control box with a new Morse MT-3 on "TomKat" 32011 (1995) and at the same time will replace the throttle/shift cables. Can anyone tell me the port and starboard cable lengths that I will need? I've heard it's easier to thread the new cables at the same time you...

Hatch hinges in cockpit
We own "TomKat"32011 (1995). All three of the cockpit hatch hinges show extensive cracking. Bomar has shown little help for a defective product that could be a BIG safety issue. Even with age I don't think they should break up like that. They did tell me that replacement part GL927-22 woul...
