Re: transmission oil cooler?

hi,

they are part# 3367np fig "C" in their catalog. the coolers are dc60. i used perkins power out of jacksonville, fl pete (prichmond@perkinspower.com). they were very good.

before you order, i would measure the ss tubing diameter just to be sure.

Re: novacool fridge

in response to nick's problems, we had trouble this winter. as russ points out in his webpage there are many things to help performance but in our case the root cause of our problem was a corroded connector on the dc power coming in. sprayed with corrosion block and things returned to normal. this f...

could it be a breaker going bad (i.e. tripping at too low a setting)?

Re: Operating Generator Underway

hi nick, welcome aboard. we have only run the generator once when running and that was for heat. we ran at hull speed or about 7 knots. if your real question is can i run at 13 knots with the generator running the answer is it's all about cooling. the main engines have clam shells covers with slots ...

Re: Bahamas crossing

hi, we have crossed to bahamas 13 times. we have left from stuart, west palm, ft lauderdale, and miami. we have 2 possible targets: west end or great sale. once we are ready to go we start monitoring 2-4 of our favorite weather sites. once we see a possible day we look for 2-3 days of agreement. we'...

Re: Rudder safety warning!!!

hi dick,

after all these years what event has brought this to your attention?

with that said last time i was back there, on our 2003 #23 we have a ss bolt tapped into the rudder shaft above the upper bearing holder.

Re: Diesel spill

buy a gallon of formula 88 at home depot and pour in. it will break down the diesel. i would think eventually it will find its way into one or both hulls. i thought that the floor of the rear a/c compartment is the bottom of the bridge deck (at least on our 2003).

Re: novacool fridge

hi russ,

it appears that the fan is "sucking" the air out of fridge area and into fuel tank area. i was just wondering why you didn't mount it in fridge compartment. not sure whether or not it would work better.

Re: novacool fridge

hi russ,

i assume picture is taken from inside the locker over the front fuel tank. is there a reason you put fan in there sucking air out as opposed to in behind fridge blowing air out?

Re: sugested dinghy size

hi,

first, i suggest you search this forum at length.

with that said we have a west marine 10'6" rib with a yamaha 15 2-stroke. it planes comfortably with 3 but barely with 4. just fits between hulls and wife and i can handle easily.

Re: Macerator pump installation

we switched and it was one of the best things we did for the boat. i'd take pictures but we are old style (#23) and it has a completely different plumbing setup than yours.
