Re: Yanmar 75hp to 100 hp upgrade

i agree with alan. we cruise our 75s at 3400 all the time. many days it's 10-12 hrs straight. we've done that for 13 years.

Re: Anchor Bridle

first, i hope to god i'm never out in a storm bad enough to bend the bows. that aside i'd be interested to know what cat experienced the bends. most sail cats have a mast section running from hull to hull, so to bend the bow it most like would snap that. many power cats have solid deck with an i-bea...

Re: Hull #

hi,

the build date is part of the serial number on the stern steps. it's 2 digit year and a 2 character month. i think year is last 2 digits of the number.

Re: Nova Kool Refrigerator

hi, one note of caution. if your 2004 has the old style galley and dinette you may not be able to remove/replace the unit without doing some cutting of the settee back. when we replaced ours we had to cut about a 1' section out of the back and then re-glass after new one was in. we removed all cabin...

Re: Engine Panels

hi tim,

first, i admit to being ignorant on the basic issues.

how does this affect your upper helm, if at all?

also, on the temp sender, how does it deal with F/C?

Re: places to stay in the FL keys?

last fall we looked into 2 marinas on stock island (...village marina & no sure of other). they are directly across from each other on stock island. both could handle us no problem. we have friends who have both stayed at both and loved them both.

Re: Engine Coolant Pump

we replaced one years ago. we have 75s but i think they must be very similar. we used a genuine yanmar because we were in bahamas and didn't want to risk a problem. bottom line, it's pretty straight forward.

we've had the fridge in and out twice. don't remember if i took slider off or not but screen definitely did not come off. we don't have an opening center window, so that was not an option.

Re: tv dish on boat?

hi rafe, good to hear from you. i'm familiar with the tailgater and its winegard equivalent. i was all set to pull the trigger when i called the winegard tech support and asked what happens when you have a total loss of signal, namely does it automatically re-acquire. his answer was no, you have to ...

tv dish on boat?

hi all, we have used our dishtv dish antennae mounted on a dock piling for 10 years. we have changed marinas and can no longer mount the dish on dock/piling. we used tv over wifi this winter and i'm not totally satisfied. my question: has anyone used a "normal" dish on the boat at the dock? if so, h...

Re: Charging from Portable Generator

hi, years ago we had a xantrex. you could put it in a mode where it "got out of the way". in this mode electricity just bypassed it. i would test a 110v light bulb in any socket with your charger/inverter shut off. if the light bulb works then electricity is flowing past the xantrex. if that's the c...
