Re: Fender Boards
we just use the synthetic boards, no wood. they are about 1'x3'x4". for locks we use lines on lifelines and position them on slotted toe rail. for our seasonal docking we do a combination of doubling and end to end on toe rail. we have 4 of them.

Re: Fender Boards
hi, since we left new england and floating docks, we converted to "fender boards" i.e. the ones sold by defender, et al. this year we actually used the built in slots to make "double" length fender boards. they stow easily, are rugged, and give flexible options. i also made hooks...

Re: Bowmar hatch gasket?
our problem ended up being dirt packed in behind the hinges. we cleaned so far we're ok. related to your problem, we had water in genset compartment floor. after thoroughly checking gaskets and surfaces i noticed some space between the deck and the hatch flange. i removed loose bedding and re-packed...

Re: New MV 34 owners
heh welby, welcome aboard! first, we too have 3 blade 75's and like you when we got our boat it was way over-propped. i dug thru my records and they are now 16x14. we've had them like that for 18 years (4000 hrs). we run at 3350 rpms and that gives us 13.5 knots. as far as 4 blades vs 3. if you sear...

Re: Bahamas Tel Cell Phone Service
we used mrsimcard years ago. the advantage you get from him is that your phone is working the minute you get near a tower without going in to get a simcard. we are out of date on the current cellphone market.

Bowmar hatch gasket?
hi all,
we've developed a leak on one of our rear vertical hatches. as best i can tell the water is running down the vertical hull, over the hatch flange and then i believe getting between the gasket and the glass.
does anyone know what secures the rubber gasket to the glass?
tia

not sure it's definitive answer, but if you search the forum, i've seen a couple of threads on it(splash guards).

Re: Prop Zinc Wear
a suggestion. if you search this site you'll see a modification to the nut which significantly cuts down on the loosening problem. basically, install a screw from the inside of the nut and then use a nyloc nut to secure the zinc. otoh, if you don't have line cutters, you may want to consider switchi...

Re: Xantrex Pathmaker
actually thinking about it, i'm wrong on one point. the power source sense wire is a separate wire and does not connect to one of the studs. other than that what i said above will work.

couple of things 1) i'm not a great designer and i'm sure there are more elegant designs than what follows and 2) the goal is to connect all batteries into one bank when a charge source is present AND more importantly to isolate all batteries if no charge source is present. unless blue seas has chan...
