Re: Finally got a PDQ 34

hi gerry,

welcome aboard.

i think magic (formerly beach magic) is really a 2004 model year boat. as i recall it has the newer flybridge and separate hull/shower but still has the u-shaped dinette and small galley.

Re: Move Water Heater

hi, i spoke to gregg at stuart yachts about moving the water tank. the project eliminated the engine heating and worked entirely off 110V. they increased battery bank capacity and rewired the heater to work off the inverter. sounded like the owner was pleased with results. give gregg a call. i'm sur...

Re: Distribution Panel breaker for SSB

hi,

we have an early boat so yours maybe different. on ours flybridge supply supplies all power to the flybridge which may or may not be mostly instruments. you can certainly add another breaker to the panel if you have a spare slot, it's just snaking the wire to where you need it.

Re: Fore / Aft Boat Balance

dinette reading lights?

hi all, we have a 2003 which has the old style u shaped dinette. it has spotlights for reading in each corner. the problem is they have stopped working. i've tested and don't have any voltage at the lights. i tried tracing wiring back but it disappears into a huge bundle. given that they both stoppe...

Re: expansion tank?

hi all, after much research i decided to install an expansion tank. naturally i wanted the smallest one with sufficient capacity to absorb the expansion. i landed on whale's (http://www.defender.com/product3.jsp?path=-1|51|2234245|2234251&id=2654762). i mounted it high on outside wall, above muf...

Re: Latches for interior portholes

roger,

are you talking about the windows in side of hull or the sliding windows in the rear salon? if in the hull, do you have plastic or steel portlights?

Re: Anchor Rode Options

so here's the story. our last boat was a gemini 105 (sail cat). we used an aluminium spade #10 or 20. when we bought our pdq i called spade and asked if they thought the aluminium spade would be ok. they said the size would be fine but they've had the shanks bend when used on cats so they said get t...

we have 60' chain. rocna is 45 lb. we didn't make any changes to roller, but we did replace the roller because of wear.
