Re: Current accurate weather

we have used batelco simm and a data plan to get internet and weather. we have a cell booster which helps in exumas. cell companies have added a lot more cell towers so most areas you can get coverage. if you're a sail cat you can run cellphone up mast in a bag to increase range.

Re: Thoughts on Watermakers ?

hi bill, another thing is do you plan to do this on a regular basis. if the answer is no or not sure and you see yourself hanging around abacos i would not make the investment for your first trip. first, the cays, afaik, only have ro water which is as good as it gets. we have gotten water at grand c...

Re: trans oil cooler?

thanks for the reply. i spoke directly to bowman. they can provide bsp or npt in 3/8" or 1/2". i was trying to see if anyone had done this project and knew what size/type pdq's supplier had used. then i could order the correct sizes and reuse the existing hoses. i realized this was a long ...

we replaced our original davits with a set from st croix. i think they were an definite upgrade.

we too have used a magma grill on the stern rail with 1lb bottles. we too have the refiller from the 10lb tank. we've used this for 13 yrs of cruising and it works for us.

Re: Hard Top?

there is a diy yard in manatee pocket. the name escapes me. something like J&R. they are at extreme south end of the pocket. they will provide labor for a price. give them a call.

vinegar works just as well to remove the scale buildup from salt water and it's easier to work with.

if you get to cape may and are facing a few days of strong e-ne winds, going up inside nj is an option. we did it 6 times. at least you're moving rather than just sitting.

Re: OVEN ALTERNATIVE

i think the first factor to conside is whether it's an old galley or the newer layout. the newer one has far greater counter space.

Re: OVEN ALTERNATIVE

hi, i assume you have a 2005 or later boat (i.e. newer galley). if so, i think that you can fit a convection/microwave where the factory "oven" is. we have the earlier galley layout and wanted a convection/microwave but our oven location doesn't have sufficient depth. i believe the newer g...
