Cat Tales has been sold!

Well, Cat Tales' story is about to start a new chapter with wonderful new owners. Kelly & I have thoroughly enjoyed the years we spent travelling with our PDQ, but the time has come to move on. Many thanks to all the words of wisdom and helpful voices from this forum. We will still be part of th...

Re: Shrink wrap vs Custom Tarp

I was sent an email from Sailrite about building your own canvas cover. Here is the link just in case anyone is really motivated.

Re: Sebastian Inlet, Florida

Thanks Sam! A well marked channel through the shoal area is what I wanted to hear. Regarding the currents, fisherman, and "yahoos", we have our own (although a little smaller) version of Sebastian Inlet in Boca Raton, so I am used to it. I believe that the Sebastian Inlet is close to you g...

Sebastian Inlet, Florida

Has anyone used the Sebastion Inlet in Florida? I know that it has a fixed bridge which prevents sailboats from transitting, but I will be bringing a powerboat down the coast and was concerned about shoaling and depths through that area.

Thanks!

Re: Bahamas Insurance

BoatUS charges a $100 rider above your premium for the Bahamas. It can be renewed or dropped every year. They don't insure beyond the islands though.

Re: In South Florida for a couple of days

Kevin & Dawn, We did have a great sail, but my thanks goes to you for being such wonderful & hospitable crew. For the first time I was able to experience our boat from a guest's point of view. :D You are welcome aboard Cat Tales anytime! (Although, next time Kelly & I insist on paying fo...

Re: In South Florida for a couple of days

Kevin, I was hoping to get play hookie from work sometime mid-week, but I think my employees are on to my scheme and they're trying real hard to keep me as productive as they are. :( Cat Tales is in Deerfield Beach. Send me a PM with your contact info and I'll give you a shout if I can get away tomo...

Re: Sliding Glass Door

Dan, ours is doing the same thing. I noticed that Sam had posted a "door fixing" link on http://www.pdq36.com. Although I haven't had a chance to look at it closely, it might give enough information for where to apply a lubricate or maybe replace a roller, etc. If you come across anything ...

Re: Watermaker - Repair or Replace ??

Bill, we have the Spectra 150 (150 gallons in a 24 hours period). It produces out just over 6 gallons an hour (75 degree F water), consuming 1 DC amp per gallon. With our 85 gallon water tank, we are able to take homestyle showers and fill up the water tanks every few days in 12 hours. It's very qui...

Re: Bathroom Sink Drain

Tom,

Thanks for shipping the sink drain part. I had to cut the threaded part because it was twice as long as necessary. Also the nut was not needed, but in the end it all worked out perfectly. No more leaky drain! :)

Re: Finally pulled the engines; now what?

FWIW...I put in the Yamaha control cables in 05/2006. So far (knock on wood), they have held up very well. I can't remember the cost difference, but they couldn't have been much more expensive at the time.

E15 EPA mandate! I received the following in a .pdf from Ocean High Performance Marine (a Yamaha dealer in South Florida). Thought it might be of interest to many of you. I was not able to post the actual .pdf, but if you email me: svCatTales at gmail dot com, I'll gladly forward you the file. It al...

Re: replace the 9.9s

Looking through Yamaha's website, I couldn't find the 25hp with a 30" shaft. They only had data on the 15" or 20". Powering through current and head winds with decent speed would be a great advantage over our current 9.9's, but what do you think our new top speed could be pushed to wi...
