Re: reefing lines

You should be able to accomplish it without removing the boom end. I found the fiberglass rod type of fish tape is easier to use as well. It has 3 ft sections that screw together and run straighter than the coiled metal type.

Re: Mainsail outhaul line replacement

I don't recall there being a block on the outhaul on mine. I had to re-run my single line reefing and those both had blocks inside the boom. My reefing blocks fit through the opening at the clew end of the boom. Can you pull your outhaul out through that end? may need to add attach additional line t...

Re: "Buggy" Fuel Problem

Umm....I've read through this thread kinda casually but, a couple things caught my attention. Blowing out a fuel tank with a shop vac after rinsing with alcohol and carb cleaner???????? Reminds me of a story years ago of a guy SHOP VACing up gasoline after a spill in his garage...BOOOOOM!!! True, bl...

slip de-icer

I'm planning on staying in the water longer this year.
Maybe all winter. I'm docked on Rockhold creek in Deale , MD .
What de-icer do I need? Any experiences/recommendations appreciated.

Roughly a 45 mile trip.
Should be straight forward 6-9 hours depending if you get fair winds or have to pound into it.

Re: Plexiglass fracturing

How difficult is the removal of the windows? Should I invest in a windsheild removal tool? Also, the clean up; I also ordered the required cleaner/primer and activator with the sikaflex but how clean do the surfaces have to be? Razor scraper for mechanical then wipe with acetone? WTom You can get a...

Re: Size of Stay Wire for Norseman fittings

I measured this in the past on my 1993 PDQ36 and, as I recall, it was all 5/16 and the owners manual states 1x19 stainless. The owners manual can be downloaded at www. PDQ36.com and has other rigging info that may be helpful to you as well (if you don't have it yet). I'm hoping others will chime in ...

Re: What engines will fit 1990 PDQ 36'

Yamaha T9.9 outboards are what most use but I have heard of someone using Honda 15's. I bought T9.9 GEXH's last year and they fit pretty well. GEXH is the long shaft without powertilt and manual choke. I tend to go for the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle. Less things to go wrong. Be aware tha...

Re: Catch 22 on the Chesapeake

Easy on the wheel. Don't bring her hard over (to the stop) like you did on a monohull. The advice on speed and getting the jenny over quickly are well founded and match my experience. Our autopilot was pretty useless downwind, but worked fine other than that. You will find it better and faster to t...
