Re: Storage
Hi Jordi, I only went there for the winter to get hauled out. The Delaware Rv. is not for sailboats. The docks are floating. The last time I wintered there was about 4 years ago, and I think I paid about $1400 for in & out, and power wash the bottom. At the time you could do your own work or call...

Re: Storage
I don't know if Philly is far enough south for you, but there is a great marina in a state park up the Delaware River. I wintered my PDQ 36,Here's 2 Life, there for many years. It's in Neshaminy State Park. I think It's called All Seasons Marina, but I'll check that out if you're interested.

Re: PDQ36 hull 026 looks forward to returning to Chesapeake Bay
Hi Matthew, Is this the boat that was buried in the back of the yard on the South River just past the bridge? If it is, I am so happy to see it being brought back to life. I am the former owner of hull #21, Here's 2 Life, and kept my boat there while it was being sold. I wish you well in restoring h...

Re: PDQ 36 Free Rudder
Hi Chet, Hope your well.
Just curious about how you wound up with an extra rudder. Knowing you, I guess you took it off and found going in circles to your liking, and left it that way. I'm right , aren't I ? LOL

Re: No cooling water at telltale and running hot.
Forgive me if this sounds demeaning, but did you try running the engine without the thermostat? I've missed that in the past and it cost me a lot of lost time.

Re: Maserator pump
I also think loss of prime is the problem. I owned "Here"s 2 Life" for 17 years, and those pumps were always problem. About year 15, while trying to make it work, I discovered what may have been a design flaw. When you separate the motor from the macerator I noticed corrosion in the b...

Re: Weight and dimension of Hardtop
Hi, I wish I knew how to post pics. I built my hardtop from slightly less than 1/4" marine plywood over a welded aluminum tube frame. The joints are scarfed so that no seams are shown, and it becomes one solid sheet of plywood, then coated with 3 layers of epoxy, and polyurethane The finished t...

I sprayed the entire back of the box with expanding isulating foam. Seemed to do the job , along with additional rigid insulation inside the box.

I don't know if they're still available, but we had 17 trouble free years from our Lavac.

Check out the Dometic SmartStart. This is a device that helps reduce the surge of A/C startup. After the initial surge, the Honda 2000 can easily handle the A/C.

Re: 1993 PDQ36 "Here's 2 Life" is SOLD
After half-heartedly trying to sell myself, I got serious after our Fall cruise, and listed her with a broker in Annapolis. She was under contract in less than 30 days.
It was a wonderful 17 years.
