Re: Rough Water Photo

Wish I had a photo..... we crossed from Stuart to Great Sail last December with forecasted 2-4 ft seas... turned out to be 4-8... not a fun trip.. was taking a bucketful of water in the face every 2 minutes or so. Everything that could move in the boat wound up on the floor... dog threw up on the ca...

Re: Fuel Transfer

Not wanting to sound silly...but....are you sure that the valves on the main tank are open? I leave them open all the time and just close the forward ones when transfer is complete.

Re: Fuel Transfer

I find that sometimes my pump does not prime when I start the transfer. I reverse the pump for a few seconds then switch back to the aft transfer and it works.

Re: Bed Upgrade in Statroom

I used a queen sized Aerobed on my 36 and it was great. I do not have any problems with the current foam on 34108 but if I did I would use the Aerobed. It is easily deflated if you need to get at the back engine compartment and it quickly inflates with the included compressor. This is also good when...

Re: Thank you for being good mates and friends

I also echo the sentiments in the previous posts. After owning 36089 and sailing her 5 years in the Bahamas and now having 34108, I appreciate the craftsmanship that PDQ put into each boat. They were not perfect, but the standards were high and the folks that were on the line did their best to make ...

Re: Holdling Tank Question

John.. that is a good idea.. to prime the pump... you would have to quickly switch the valve back and forth to get the water to the macerator. If all that fails, I would check the impeller in the macerator. Since you bought the boat used, it is hard to tell what operating conditions it had in the pa...

Re: Sliding Door Leak

Just an update... I talked with Dick Tuschic at Rhumbline and he said that sometimes the seal at the top of the door and around the port side fails. He said that we should not try to remove the door since it would damage it. He recommends caulking the top and port side..... probably with silicone......

Re: Holdling Tank Question

Yes, up is open.. the big valve is the waste overboard thru hull and the small one is the sea water deck wash thru hull.

Re: Holdling Tank Question

First, make sure that the thru hull valve is open. This is located under the sole in the head compartment. Second, make sure the selector valve (overboard vs pump out) is in the correct position... this is not obvious.. the long end of this valve should point to the macerator and the short end shoul...

I have the old engines on Tanah Keeta and have used the flywheel to lift the engines very sucessfully. I fabricated a lifting plate from a round plate and drilled 3 holes to match the flywheel and a hole in the center for a large eyebolt. You can use the plate to pull the flywheel also by removing t...

Tom,
I second what Chet just said. When I replaced my engines, I decided to check the fuses in the red fuse holders.... they came apart in my hands... don't know how they worked... replaced them but should have relocated them out of the engine bay or at least enclosed them somehow.
