I have used my 2000 underway on 24 -36 hr paassages to and from the Bahamas. Several times there were good seas running but it stayed in one place. The combined usage of radar , runing lights and all the other stuff using currrent was more than the outboards could supply.

I had PDQ install mine on the cabin top when new. Since I have the traveller on top of the hardtop, I use it more than the mainsheet to trim. When I do need to trim, it is a little inconvenient because my head is close to the top. My wife likes to sit with her back to the bulkhead and the designed l...

Ed, Keep us posted on your outside brackets. I have thought of doing that also but have worried about balance... not only weight since they would be hanging fairly far back but also fuel balance. Bigger engines take more fuel which reduces the distance you can travel. I thought of modifying the nace...

Hi Don. I just drained my new (2005) engines for the first time and one was milky. I too thought that a seal must be leaking but I had a mechanic do a vacuum and presure test and it turned out fine. One of the fiber washers on the screws was compressed flat and he thought that could have been the pr...

I have not run that route but a friend in a PDQ 32 ran the back route from Cape Lookout to Beaufort with no problems. It did get a little skinny. Good Luck.

We are leaving in early December and will stay in the Abacos this year. Maybe we will see you.

That is interesting. Have you talked to them about actual power output versus the Yamaha? Does it have the torque and HP to push the boat at it's normal speed. How about the highest voltage option.. could it put out more speed than the Yamahas?

In mid 2005, they cost $3200 each delivered to NC. They come complete with harness. The only modification required was to cut the charging wire and extend to the buss PDQ installed.

You might call Lynn Sheahan at PDQ. She handles all the new boats sold to the US. She was a wealth of knowledge when I brought 36089 in.

I am not familiar with the meters you identify. I have hull #89 and there is a single battery meter on the DC control panel. It has a switch with 3 positions. The first measures the house bank. (I only have one house bank) The second measures the single starting battery that is associated with the p...
