Re: MV 34 - 4 blade props
Trying to factor our current and wind, best I estimate is a solid 14kts. WOT deems to get me 16+knots. Best I had before was 14kts. I have hull 63 with 75's.

Re: MV 34 - 4 blade props
I now have avout 100 hours on the new props--4blade for 75hp. Looks like I have picked up about 2 knots at about 3200 RPM. I can't tell if there is any difference in engine noise on the bridge. I have almost NO vibration at any speed. The boat was loaded, full enclosure on bridge and full tanks of w...

Re: MV 34 - 4 blade props
I did get them-- altho 3 days late, but still in time for the yard to install them. Have only about 3 hours on them since, and I do notice "0" vibration- altho had very little with the aqua drives, and I do seem to notice a reduction in overall noise, which I hope is not just wishfull thin...

Re: MV 34 - 4 blade props
Allezcat... The reason they gave me on my props for 75hp was that the China mfgr could no longer fill the order..same for hthe 100's, etc.. I was told this after 3.5 months after putting in my order. This may be why yours are taking so long. I did find Blanchard helpful after I wanted to cancell and...

H&H is out of Salem, Mass. The props they are now getting me are from Michigan Props (??). They should be at the yard tomorrow and can let you know for sure. Charlie on Elixir.

James Power & his work on PDQ-- it is the best investment you will make on your boat!! He just left Elixir- Isle of Palms, SC- He and his nephew, Jessie, spent about 6 hrs on the boat -bow to stern- fixing a lot of items I had for him- primarily maintenance that I could not do and items that I w...

Re: MV 34 - 4 blade props
Info for all-- H&H Propeller, Jim Blanchard, can not get the 4 blade props from the usual China supplier. I was waiting since early Jan and just been given this info. May be same for 75's, 100 & 110's. They are getting my props (75's) from michigan. Guarantee same performance, anti-sing, etc...

Re: Bottom Paint?
Elixir is in Isle of Palms, SC and I have had good luck with Micron 66- 2 coats and a 3rd 16" waterline strip. Going into my 3rd year. I am very diligent in cleaning the bottom every month during warm months and every 2 months in winter- do a lot of it myself- till water gets too cold for an ol...

Re: Engine alternators not charging house batteries
I know this sounds crazy, but I replaced the combiner- see earlier post from me- but I have noticed that if I start the starboard engine first, I have the same problem!! I shut down, restart with the port engine first, and do not have the problem. House batts charging fine. Go figure!!??

Re: Raymarine Pathfinder compass problem
I have replaced the onboard computer with a newer model- one that has a gyro compass. Seems to hold a course now, but still get the same warning that no compass is detected. the tech that is helping me says that this may be that the initial set up was using NMEA rather that all Seatalk (all the set ...

Re: Raymarine Pathfinder compass problem
I have done that before, but I never had a warning that no compass was detected. I thought if there was no compass detected, it would be useless to do that. If you had that same warning yet swinging the compass worked, let me know and I'll do it right away!! Thanks. Charlie on board Elixir

Raymarine Pathfinder compass problem
I have a 2005 Raymarine Pathfinder Plus RL70C integrated with a Raymarine SmartPilot ST6001. Suddenly can get no lock on a bearing with the autopilot and when try to "Align" or "Linearise" the compass, I get the message "Warning- No compass detected." I have put a meter...
