Re: Marine Head questions for PDQ 34

It's good to see you guys back out on the water. Your blog was a great resource for us during the boat buying process. Thanks for all the work you put into it. Thank you, Rafe! Nice to know people are reading it and finding it helpful. We, too, are really happy to be back on the boat after a year c...

Re: Aft Hatch Flaps

These were made up locally by G-G Canvas of Stuart for a mere $25 ea. Well worth the price, I'd say! Henry - We like these and are considering the same on Golden. Question - the $25/each that you quote, was that for the vinyl pieces alone, or did that include the track, snaps, installation, etc? Or...

Marine Head questions for PDQ 34

We have a questions for everyone with a PDQ: what kind of marine toilets did the PDQ 34s come with? Our PDQ (#40) has a manual pump head, we believe it’s because the boat was originally put into charter and the first owner needed a simple head that was easy to replace. We’re having problems with the...

Re: Does anyone else want to order four bladed props?

There are now two of us. My boat is being hauled tomorrow because I either have a bent port shaft or an engine misaligned. If the shaft is bent, I may be visiting a prop shop and may have some more information. Recently I visited with Precision Propeller in Newburgh, NY and he said that making a set...

Re: Damaged my props & 4 bladed props

We had a diver pull the prop today, and a local prop shop was able to repair it this afternoon - just picked it up a few minutes ago. We'll have the diver put it back on and will be good to go. But we are now looking for a back-up pair of props. :)

Thanks, Russ! That's correct, we have 75 hp Yanmars and should have mentioned it.

Does anyone else want to order four bladed props?

Anybody out there with a PDQ 34 that wants to join me in the purchase of a set of 4 bladed props? It is my understanding that if we can organize the purchase of 4 sets or more, there is a significant discount.

Damaged my props & 4 bladed props

We have just come through northern NJ and we fell victim to the low water. We were right between the red and green and we touched, and touched, and touched. Then we were through the problem, all lasting less than three seconds. We felt that what we hit was soft and that we had not done any damage. W...

Engine Operating Temperatures for the Yanmar 75 HPs

We have started our trip north from Cape Coral, Florida to Vermont for the summer; we're currently in Charleston, SC. The boat is running well, but I have a questions regarding engine temperatures... We have the 75 HP engines in our 2004 Hull # 40. We have been running coolant temps below 80 degrees...

Re: Rudder posts

My mistake, the grease fitting is at the very bottom of the base of the assembly below the bottom nut.

Rudder posts

Need some advice about my rudder posts. The starboard one is leading. The bottom nut seems to be corroded in place and the upper nut turns freely. There also is a bolt that sticks out of the side and would appear to be there to lock the upper nut in place. What is most confusing me is that there is ...
