Berth Reading lights

We want to replace the gooseneck reading lights in both berths. We have the 4 new lights. However, I ran into a snag when I started to remove the gooseneck lights -- I have not yet found where the 2 wires for each light go. There's only about 1" of wire visible from the berth. They obviously go...

Re: LP Gas Hose

FYI -- I completed this LP gas hose project. Thought some of you might be interested... My goal was to replace the 15' stiff coil of LP hose used to supply propane gas to the BBQ grill on our flybridge. I got really good advice from a tech rep at Kumma regarding the low pressure propane valve needed...

Re: Transmission Maintenance Schedule

It's interesting... I've posed this question to a bunch of experienced power boaters with ZF or other brand transmissions and everyone gives essentially the same generic response - "I don't know of a schedule; we just change the oil every year along with the annual engine maintenance." And...

Transmission Maintenance Schedule

Does anyone have a schedule for routine maintenance on the ZFE-25 Transmission? I assume this transmission is on most of our PDQ boats. I have the ZF operating manual, so I understand what I'm supposed to do. What I don't see is a maintenance schedule like you would find in the Yanmar engine operati...

Re: Steering Fluid Reservoir

That's my understanding too. We had an issue with a leak in the line at the lower helm last year. Our service tech repaired the leak at the lower helm and filled the reservoir at the upper helm.

Re: Boat Maintenance Log

The usual topics for a boat log - Date, Engine Hours, Cost, Description. Obviously, I can recreate this in a notebook. I was wondering if anyone has seen a more sophisticated version that includes reminders for periodic engine or transmission maintenance. I think I'll just do it electronically so it...

Boat Maintenance Log

Do you have a boat maintenance log? I’m looking for an iOS app or at least a good template that would work in Excel.

Re: Move Water Heater

IF your objective is to get hot water to the shower faster, then I'd say go for it... as long as you are willing to give up the storage space in the starboard locker. However, IF your objective is to rebalance your boat so it runs with less "squating" at higher speeds, I don't think shifti...

Re: Ultra leather fabric color

RB,

We're not doing the BLUE color. Our 2006 has the TAN color. I'm just looking for info on the faux leather fabric. Ours has held up beautifully.

Re: iPad navigation program

Terry, Did you mean "iSail GPS" for $7.99 at the Apple App Store? It gets great reviews and is certainly inexpensive. I don't mean to put it down, however, I have it and I much prefer Navionics. I find Navionics to be much easier to use, much faster and easier to create a track without nee...

Re: Ultra leather fabric color

Good question. We too are thinking about having our seat cushions on our 2006 PDQ reupholstered. We don't have an answer to your question, but would definitely like to know.
