Re: Port Tachometer and hour meter not working.

Bill, The tach sensor reads the flywheel. It is mounted in the bellhousing just under the turbocharger. I think I would check the connection there first. Have someone watch the tach while you jiggle the wires. When it comes to the hour meters, neither of mine work on the flybridge. The ones on the l...

Re: Diesel spill

Thanks for the suggestion John. I tried the Formula 88 this morning and it seems to have taken care of the smell in the salon. After an email with James Power I think the entire fuel tank sits inside a fiberglass tub, probably to isolate any tank leaks. He said the one time he dealt with a diesel le...

Diesel spill

We are about to take a long trip so I decided to top off the fuel as full as I could. That was a mistake. The next day the cabin smelled like diesel. There was a small amount on top of the salon fuel tank that had leaked from the sending unit seal. I thought it was contained to the top of the tank, ...

Re: Cabinet Storage?

We don't have the washer and dryer but I have seen them. The cabinet is about twice as deep and the L seat is shortened to accommodate.

Re: New Owner Questions

Regarding the generator. Our generator developed a rust hole in the bottom of the oil pan which required complete removal from the boat to replace the pan. It does fit through the hatch.

Transmission, Rear Seal

We have a rear transmission seal leaking on the starboard side. It is a slow leak but needs to be fixed. Has anyone replaced a transmission seal on their 34? If so can it be done while the boat is in the water and without removing the prop? I am hoping I can unbolt the coupler and the flexible plast...

Re: New Head..

Bill,

Ours works fine and when it had an issue it was easy to repair. I can see it would be easier with the one you are looking at when you have guests although using the auto flush feature regularly seems like it may fill the holding tank quicker.

Re: Webasto Water Tank

Mac,

Got it. I am sure it is a great system to have out there and I like the idea of the separate zones. By the way, when it drops below 80 I grab a jacket.

Re: Webasto Water Tank

Mac, I am with John, there is nothing like that on my 2006. I am assuming someone wanted to have an unlimited supply of hot water at anchor without running the generator when they had that one installed on your boat. Is that hot water only or does it provide heat also? Either way, the prior owner pr...

Thanks John. I sure don't have anything there. I think I am saltwater only.

Re: Jabsco deck fitting for washdown systems

Duane,

I feel a bit silly asking but where is the fresh water wash down fitting? I haven’t seen it so I am either blind or it was an option that our boat does not have.

Shaft Seals

We have had our boat for just about three years and for the first two had problems with the starboard side Tides Marine shaft seal leaking. We had both seals them replaced at Stuart Yacht. Gregg said they had replaced them less than three years earlier for the prior owner. Stuart did not feel we had...
