Re: Cockpit locker dimensions?

Double tapping the answer to the question. Was on our boat today and took pictures of our back locker. Put into a word doc, summary below. 7533: Locker on left (it is closed, the motor hatch is open). My dog is enjoying the dun 7534: Inside of locker with my new water heater. 7535: Height, but there...

Re: Remove hot water heater

Are the Isotemp lined with gold? They are expensive. Was looking at the Seaward 6 gal (square) which is wide enough (13 inches) to fit into the locker and into the space vacated by the previous occupant.

Re: Remove hot water heater

After further examination of the locker, there was no way that water heater was coming out in one piece without me having to cut into the locker. And that was a non-starter. I was joking in a previous post about using a torch...the tools of the day were a mini crow bar, a hammer and a screwdriver. 4...

Re: Remove hot water heater

The heater is in the aft cockpit lazarette. Starboard side. Port side has the diesel tank for the genset. It is one big bin under the two hatches and I tried pulling out of each side but no luck...just isn't the space. And I don't want to cut. I've been googling 'force 10' for a diagram and also 'ho...

Re: Remove hot water heater

Not that I could see. It looked like one solid piece. I'm headed back out later this week to relook. And to see if I can take a big fraking hammer to the hot water heater and break into small chunks!

Remove hot water heater

Like all projects on the boat I thought that this should be fairly straightforward. We have a 6 gal hot water heater (Force 10) which is beyond salvage. Project today was to remove out of back locker and then, at some point in the future, install new hot water heater. Disconnected heater. Removed sc...

Re: Need some information

Hey Ben; I replaced the sanitation hoses in our PDQ36 in the fall. I ordered 20 feet of 1-1/2" Raritan Sani / Flex Sanitation Hose. That completed the run from the head back to the sanitation tank; hose from sanitation tank to deck fitting. Those were the hoses I wanted done. We still had about...

Re: New Engine Replacement: I have extra wires...

Found them and they have already been a big help. What drove me to replace the engines was repeated work on the engines, and your blog on lifting the engines was extremely helpful! We keep our boat at Herrington Harbor North; on the hard right now waiting for a weather window to get some new paint o...

New Engine Replacement: I have extra wires...

All; We bought new Yamaha 9.9s to put in our boat and they were installed yesterday. And like most things, two steps forward and one step back! The installer sent me a note--he had an issue on the install. There was a wire from the old wiring harness that connected to 20am fuses in each engine well....

Remove Mainsail

It is time to take the main sail off and have it cleaned. We get to the boat, and realize it is nothing like our last boat. We looked at how the battens/mainsail is attached to the cars in the mast, realized that neither of us had any idea how to get the main off and decided to reach out for help BE...

Re: Where does head hose connect to holding tank?

Thanks all;
We will start with Odorlos--can't hurt. If that doesn't work, replacing the hoses! Appreciate all the replies.
