Re: Fuel Tank upgrade
I have one fuel filter / water separator which services both engines. The Yamaha 9.9s sip fuel so sharing a filter isn't an issue. Both the main and secondary tank fuel lines run to the port engine compartment and into a 3-way valve. From the 3-way valve one line exits to the fuel filter which is ab...

Re: Fuel Tank upgrade
I have the same tank as you in my boat under the cockpit floor but I also have a secondary 20 gallon tank in the port lazarette. Both tanks run to a Y-valve just before the fuel filter in the port engine compartment for easy tank selection. The tank is tucked to port so the space under the lazarette...

Re: PDQ 36 Rudders
Water shouldn't be able to come up through the shaft as it extends above the water line. Are you getting water in the compartment below where the rudder controls connect? If so, then it is likely from a leak in an inspection plate, ladder mount, or backstay chainplate. Taste the water in the compart...

Re: Allie May in Cocoa - URGENT
Fish and Game contacted me yesterday to notify me of the trouble. I went out there yesterday and got her moved. Luckily she only suffered minor scuffs on the port side from a piling which should buff out. Another 10 feet and it could have been another story. I spoke to the person who noticed her dra...

Re: Engine and Power Tilt Trouble
Mine is a blade style 10 amp mini fuse. It's under the engine cowl forward of the flywheel inside a little plastic box with a top that pulls off. There is a slot for the fuse and an extra slot for a spare.

Re: Engine and Power Tilt Trouble
I'm a dummy. It was a blown fuse. I should have checked it sooner.
Thanks amytom.

Engine and Power Tilt Trouble
I'm having trouble with my port engine (T9.9GPXR; 2008). We took the boat out today to watch the Falcon Heavy launch and all went fine on the way out. The launch and landings were great! When we tried to leave the port engine wouldn't start and the power trim wouldn't operate; no noise from either. ...

Re: mainsail
I replaced the sails on my 36 a couple months back and went with Mack Sails. Cost was $4700 for main ($2700) and genoa ($2000). The main is a loose footed full batten 2 reef main in 8.62 high aspect Dacron. The genoa is 135% 7.7 oz marblehead with sunbrella sun cover and foam luff. The mainsail came...

Plan2Nav will overlay ActiveCaptain but only on Android; it is currently not supported on iOS. I mainly use it for trip planning and as a backup.

Re: swimladder replacement
I went with a 4" non-skid deck plate on the second step up. I can reach the inside of the chainplates, ladder, and handrail this way.

Re: swimladder replacement
Unfortunately I can't answer your question. I know my ladder is not original and I can see where the old mount holes were filled in as they must not have matched the new ladder brackets. I just replaced my backstay chainplates and the washers/nuts were not glassed in. This required me to install a 4...

Re: Backstay chainplate replacement
I finally got around to replacing my backstay chainplates. A local rigger inspected my boat and was in agreement that only the backstay chainplates needed replaced. He also felt these were the original chainplates. It was $300 in total for the inspection and a set of custom made chainplates. I spent...
