Re: Ice maker GFI

Hi Ross,
I had the ice maker GFI moved to the right side of the door opening. Now if it needs a reset I just open the door and it's an easy click.

Re: Thoughts on Watermakers ?

hi, can you give us an idea of what it cost and where it is located? thanks, Most of the components are in the Starboard forward hatch. The biggest component is the high pressure pump and it sits on the shelf. I still have lots of space for storage in the bottom. I don't remember the exact cost. I'...

Re: Thoughts on Watermakers ?

I have a Watermakers.com 20 gallon/hr ac modular system. I often think it's producing closer to 25-30 gph as the tanks fill up quite nicely for us when we run it. It was installed by Watermakers in Stuart, FL but it's a little cheaper to do it Fort Lauderdale as that's where they're located. Very pr...

Re: OVEN ALTERNATIVE

We use the microwave/convection oven all the time. When we had are RV we took a microwave/convection cooking class and that really opened our eyes as to how great these devices are. We've cooked full turkeys for Christmas, prime rib, breads and everything else. The highest setting is 450 F and the a...

I did the Dismal swamp about a month ago... no problem. I wouldn't do it again because it was too boring.
Have fun with your PDQ 34. I love mine.

Re: Looking for Upper Helm Raymarine E80 monitor

There is a shop in Bradenton, FL that specializes in rebuilding the monitors. I traded in my old stuff to Metco. Call them and I'm sure they'll tell you who collects all the old stuff. http://marineelectronicstc.com/ If you're interested in the rebuilding send me a message and I'll dig up the the na...

Re: Auto Pilot rudder re-calibration

Thanks for the feedback.
In our case it looks like when we hit the mud it loosened up the rudder reference shaft. We just had to center the rudders as best we could an re-tighten.
But, while there we notices some corrosion so this area should be inspected from time to time.

Auto Pilot rudder re-calibration

My auto pilot has stopped working properly. 2006 PDQ 34 When I engage the pilot the boat turns to port until the rudder is all the way to port and I'm doing circles. I have calibrated the compass and was proceeding to calibrate the rudder but the error rate was >7 and the online reference I got was....

Re: Looking for solar panels

Hi Gerry, I just had an aft bimini and 2x350s installed at Stuart Yacht last summer. These things really crank out the power so I've just increased by battery bank to close to 1000 Amps. And they fit perfectly. I'm off the boat while they finish with the battery install. If you're interested in know...

Re: Fresh Water water flow PDQ 34

The top or head of the filter has to be removed to be cleaned. It is molded plastic but when removed, or unatttached from the water lines, you can give it a good cleaning. Best of Luck

Re: Fresh Water water flow PDQ 34

It took some time to find the cause and solution to the pump re-prime issue. This is what we found... 1. The tank output hose, that feeds the fresh water system, had been shoved fully into the tank making contact with the bottom. There should be around 2" of hose visible on the top of the tank....

Fresh Water water flow PDQ 34

I screwed up and ran the fresh water tank dry. Now, though the pump is still working it is just sucking air and won't re-prime. The fresh water tank is full. The water simply isn't draining into the lines. I guess it may be a huge air lock or perhaps something that was sucked up from inside the tank...
