Re: outboard engine - testing on land with water muffs
This is also my experience when running the Yamaha 9.9hp with muffs. It takes more water to get it primed. I have switched to using a container of water to submerge the lower unit in (my large kitchen garbage can is the perfect size).

Re: Water where it shouldn't be!
This is an old thread but I found it when searching for something else and there is a some very useful information here very specific to the 32, so I thought I would post here. My starboard bilge would always have water, I wondered where it came from. Finally, last year, I was filling the water tank...

Re: Forum Software notes - from Admin
We have upgraded to the forum software to the latest version.
I think it is OK, the only thing that has been reset is the dates that are used by the Quick Links - New Posts, Active Posts and Unread Posts - these will populate as there are more posts. Sorry.

Sam and I are again upgrading forum software. I had some issues this time but I reverted to the previous software (I think). If you have any issues with the forum in the next few days, please let me know at ….. ks8999@gmail.com
I'll try again with a full upgrade early next week.

Re: PDQ32 rig tension
This is a 15 year old thread from the old message board, but I don't think this stuff changes. The original author posts the LBS of tension he saw on a PDQ 32 with a fractional rig. Not sure the apply or make sense for my non-fractional rig. Does anybody have the numbers from PDQ on what it should b...

Adding an electric outlet to the port cabin
Years ago, I added an electric outlet to the starboard cabin. I ran the wire from the panel in the nav area to the outlet and I remember the wiring being a pretty easy run. Now, I want to add an outlet to the port cabin. I could run a dedicated wire all the way from the panel to the cabin, but I'm t...

Re: Height dimensions of the hardtop
Dennis, I rotated your photo and added it back to your post.
Also, it looks like you have a few stainless steel circular bases in the hardtop, near where the support pole attached. Can I ask what those are for?

Good info, and looks like a simple installation. Their website shows they also have a fresh water tank monitor. Both of the units are $189 each.

Forum Software notes - from Admin
Hi all, I work with Sam keeping the forum running and about a week ago, I did the upgrade of the forum software to the latest version as a follow-on to some platform changes Sam completed. You won't see much of a difference but it was a major internal upgrade of the database. However, in the past we...

If you are looking to replace with another propane instant heater, most owners have gone with the Excel. http://excelonlinestore.com/tankless-gas-water-heater-1-6-gpm-lpg-propane-ventfree-copper-heat-exchanger Another message thread about it here: http://www.pdqforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=271...

Re: Keel Modification
No, I would not change anything. I was quite happy with the way it turned out, a pretty simple project if done in concert with a bottom job. In a nutshell, I ground the surfaces clean, cut a 1/2-inch FRP blank, and ground the trailing edge of the blank to match the taper of the keel. I then bonded ...

LED Reading lights in cabins: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XPY8YQD/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 A little brighter than the stock halogens (but much cooler and lower power draw), and they have a frame "lip" around the leds so that one person can read without the ...

Hi Drew, the article link in post #1 is no longer on your website. Is that because it was moved to your book? https://www.amazon.com/Faster-Cruising-Coastal-Sailor-Drew-ebook/dp/B0723FC1QW I have the book, and you describe the project completely in Chapter 3, which also includes a list of parts. Tha...
