Hi Folks,
Yes all the 36' Bulkheads were constructed of Marine Plywood with a Cherry veneer over it.
If you ever have any questions about any of the PDQ products just drop me a line, as I built almost 200 of them.
Cheers
Dan

Re: transom grab rails
Hey Bob, well you can reglass and gelcoat the areas, but I would install a set of deck plates or inspection ports, if only to have access to that aft area for leak inspections.....The gel came from Progress Supply in Toronto, I can see if I can dig up the numbers for you.

Re: Charter Possibities
During my travels this summer working in marinas around Ontario, I did find a PDQ36 in charter, Nauticat. It is in charter on the North Channel out of Canadian Yacht Charters. They are located on the North West tip of Manitoulin Island. I actually stayed on the boat for a week while I was working on...

Re: transom grab rails
Hi Folks
Where most of the stainless came from Metaux Produit, the transom grab rails did not, they were an off the shelf item that we formed to match the transom lines. I believe they came from Paynes or West Marine. As for the sizes I cannot recall whether the 36 and the MV were the same......

Re: Inverter/Charger Interferance
Chris, I used to run into this problem a great deal in the Motorhome and Buses I used to work on. You are getting radio interference from the inverter feeding up the 12vdc negative of the radio. Our cure was to go to Radio Shack or the Source and you can buy a radio noise suppressor. It is just 2 wi...

Re: PDQ folks on the web (and some entertaining browsing too!)
If anyone is interested, I have pictures of the last PDQ 44 "SPIRIT OF NINA" delivered through the Erie Barge canal to Catskill NY and the trials and tribulations we encountered. We titled it the "What could go wrong tour 2007" If anyone is on Facebook and would care to have a lo...

Re: Where to put additional batteries
If I can make a comment, I would definatly install a battery combiner system, if only to give you the re assurance of not draining the start batteries, but also to give the system the equal charge while under way or on shore power. I have used the Xantrax 250 numerous times and have had no problem w...

Re: wiring chase
I have hull #108. My subpanel that has switches for the gps, vhf, nav lights, etc is on the starboard side of the inside steering station just above the side window. I removed that entire panel to run some wire for my sat phone. You can see the chase that goes down to the main wiring center and wit...

Re: wiring chase
Depending on the year of your MV, there are different wire chases up to the flybridge.....I will take the blame for it, I designed the different chases and the electrical runs from MV5 to the final MV I am wiring right now for ED. In most of the MV's if you go into each aft cabin you either need to ...

Re: 36 LRC diesel leak mystery
If I may make a comment, the later LRC models had an inspection hatch cut into the Teak and Holly sole in the port aft cabin, the hatch was made of the piece that was cut out and trimmed in Teak, thus making it easy for inspection of that aft bilge. I have had a look at a couple of 36's with the LRC...

Re: MV 41 Davit Replacement
As far as I know, I test fit the first and only set of Bench Davits on the PDQ 41, if anyone is interested in upgrading their system to a more robust and workable system, they should contact Metaux Produit in Gran Mere Quebec. They are the original suppliers of the system to PDQ.

PDQ Is gone
I was at the auction on Dec 13th of 2007 and as a former employee and friend it was a sad day for a lot of people. All the assets were sold and the doors were closed. I was with PDQ for the past 7 years as the ABYC Electrician, Commisioning Team Member, and Options Installer....... if there are any q...
