Re: Effective Water

I put in a stainless steel fuel gauge float level sensor in our our aluminum water tank, however I put a piece of shrink wrap tubing on the stainless steel sensor rod and then insulated the end of the rod with a rubber coating. This eliminates any reaction between the stainless steel rod and the tan...

Multiple PDQ Rendezvous / Cruise ??

What would some of you think about a group of PDQ powercat owners taking a long cruise together: Start late Feb./early March from Florida to Bahamas, Turks/Caicos, Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands/West Indies, ending up south of the equator during hurricane season, like Tortola. Come back to Flor...

Thanks for the info. We just installed a Shakespeare cell phone setup, which is 4G. We appear to be getting about 25 mile range out of it,

BAHAMAS WIFI

In the Bahamas, is WiFi available wherever there is a cell phone tower? Is it available in the southern Bahamas; such as, Jumentos, Ragged Island, Mayaguana, etc., not at marinas or resorts? We anchor out 95% of the time.

Rocna Anchot

At last year's PDQ conference there was discussion about the size Rocna anchor best for the PDQ 34. Was it a Rocna 20? And where's the best place to purchase one?

Re: Boat Insurance

We are in FL and our boat is at a marina on the Suwannee River just off the Gulf. It is insured for $240,000 with a 2% deductible. The quote we got from Geico was $3,900!! If we go to the Bahamas, it has an adder of 50 cents/day. What are we doing wrong? It's due in a couple weeks.

Boat Insurance

Wondering what people have for boat insurance. We have a 2004 PDQ 34MV w/110 engines. We currently have Boat US which is pricey. Has anyone found a compatible company with a better rate?

Hydraulic Ruder Aligbment

How often does everyone do their hydraulic ruder alignment? It seems like we have to do ours about every 70 +/- miles, or our steering starts to get very hard to turn.

Re: Anchor Bridle

I had the same concerns so I mounted 10" cleats 2' above the waterline and about 2' from the front of the bow with 1' thick large plywood backing plates. Also backed by 1/4" 8 x 6 aluminum plates. This gave the anchor rode a low angle of attack. When not in use I secure the apron over the bow rail. ...

Sliding Door

Door is becoming more difficult to slide. Tried to remove plate on the bottom of the track to service and clean the rollers, but after taking the screws out, it still wouldn't come off. Suggestions on how to do this???
