Re: Davit failures

I have a 2006 PDQ Cat. I believe this is about the year PDQ upgraded the davit structure. Ours seems very strong. However, I totally agree with Dick -- "the dinghy MUST be secured properly or failure is highly probable. A dinghy that is secured properly should not have more than one inch of lateral ...

Re: Replace Thermostats?

John, I got a can of the Corrosion Block you recommended. Now, did you just spray some inside the thermostat on the circuit board and battery contact area?

Re: Hatch Vent

This thread was very helpful. I need to replace the guts of my Vent-O-Mate on the shower hatch. Finding Beckson and the source of this vent was a very pleasant surprise. THANKS!

Re: How to update Charts on flybridge C120 Display

My 2006 C120 chartplotter is not designed with the Master / Slave concept. I've been told the flybridge display is entirely independent of the lower helm display. And, to confirm that, when I update the software for the lower display, it did NOT update the software for the flybridge display. I had t...

Re: Replace Thermostats?

Thanks. Good suggestion. Could you be specific about the product you recommend? There are quite a few on West Marine's site: http://www.westmarine.com/corrosion-inhibitor

How to update Charts on flybridge C120 Display

I bought for $240 the Navionics charts update CF card plus the latest software update for my Raymarine C120 chartplotter. The software update and charts installed just fine on the lower helm C120. How can I update the charts on my Flybridge C120 display? I called Navionics and I thought they said I ...

Replace Thermostats?

Have any of you replaced any of your 4 thermostats? We have at least 2 of the 4 on our boat that are intermittent. The AA battery connections or the circuit board wire connections seem to acquire light corrosion and stop working periodically. Usually, with some effort, I can get them to work. If you...

Re: Replacing house batteries

Jim,

Be sure to disconnect from shore power too before working on your batteries. I don't think there is a set order to removing the battery cables.

Re: How to secure dinghy

Drew, great graphic of Tom Patey; an excellent analogy! The "devil" is certainly hidden in the details on these boats.

Alan, thanks for the additonal pics!

John... could you describe the size of holes in your netting? Better yet, could you send some photos?

Re: Replacing house batteries

Jim, We're facing the same issue on our 2006 PDQ Powercat. we bought the boat last April. The 4 "Golf Cart" deep cycle batteries were new at that time. However, we quickly found they do NOT have enough amp power to allow us to operate at anchor for more than 24 hours. And it was taking 6-9 hours to ...

John, could you please send some pics showing how you set the ratchet straps? I'm seeing a pattern now about the effectiveness of using the ratchet straps.

Thanks, Tom. Your davit is very different from mine (2006). What year is your boat?

Re: How to secure dinghy

John, Thanks for the reinforcing comments on using straps. Could you please send photos showing how you strap your dinghy down. I also want to see the davit system on your boat. Alan's and Duane's pics appear to show the same davit that I have... which I thought was the reinforced system that arrive...
