Re: Questions for those who have gone to the Bahamas

We have crossed several different ways... Lately we cross from Stuart FL and head for Lucaya. Check-in goes well and you can anchor while waiting for the next weather window. We typically go to the Berry's, next on to or through Nassau, and then into the northern Exumas. Now you can travel the Exuma...

Re: cash money in the Bahamas

We've done the trip 5 times and most always use cash.
Most places in the Exumas do impose an additional fee for credit cards.
Skype will work with a strong connection, but too many users bogs down the system.
Some places in the Exumas now request that you do not Skype.

Re: Does anyone know of a haul-out in southern GA?

I think Thunderbolt can handle it; however, they said that they couldn't store us long term.

Brunswick landing's lift is 18', but Prarie Dream said they could make it by removing some stantions.

Any other suggestions would be welcome...

Re: Haul out / Storage / Insurance in Florida

I was looking for insurance that would allow me to be in FL all-year. Boat US gave me a quote; however, it was about 25% more than being above the FL line by June 1st. I also heard that St. Augustine Marina could haul PDQ's; however, I have not made contact. Now, does anyone know of a haul-out in so...

Not sure of the make, but I think you'll find it is a no-maint. lead acid.

Re: Faucet mfg question

The style was "swan" and it was either Home Depot or Lowes. After a few years, the chrome is flawless.... Just take your hole placement measurements (which seems to be about standard) and look for a model that has adequate faucet length.

Re: Faucet mfg question

Not sure about the originals, but there was enough room in the head to replace (using existing holes) with a nice unit from Home Depot.

Mattress Replacement

Has anyone replaced their mattress? If so, any suggestions? We have the PDQ36 Queen, extra firm. It was fine but starting to loose a little of it's support. We have already swapped the one in the other stateroom... We need a new one!
Thanks!!!
