Re: Insulating the interior
Is the purpose to insulate against temperature extremes or sound? You may want to consider simply re-attaching the carpet liner, rather than replacing it entirely. Another question - why has the liner come down? Most vintage car repair places can provide the proper adhesive to reglue the liner. It w...

Gelcoat Streaks in Galley - Stubborn Discoloration
We saw a previous posting on discoloration, but no resolution to the issue. Now that winter is upon us, we'd like to take care of maintenance issues that were moved down the priority level. The fiberglass gelcoat in our galley is discolored by VERY STUBBORN dark streaks. Has anyone else dealt with t...

Re: 36' LRC gelcoat cracking under bridgedeck
The first crack runs parallel to the bulkhead between the salon and the two staterooms. The second, less noticeable crack runs parallel to the outer wall holding the sliding door. This is approximate - will get exact dimensions the next trip down so that we can try to compare the cracks to the vario...

36' LRC gelcoat cracking under bridgedeck
Have just pulled Magic Dragon, our 1996 MRK II LRC (Hull #54), out of water for first winter near Cleveland. Boat is new to us, and has never seen freezing temps - brought her up from NC during July. Had lots of adventures due to long postponed maintenance issues. She's on the hard now at Riverfront...

Re: portlights hatches removable insect screens
After multiple contacts with Pompanette, and sending them actual pictures of inside and outside, we've discovered the hatches were supplied by Bomar - you must go through Pompanette for replacement parts. Here's what we've learned: The screen part number is P3000-14. The screens are $23.00 each and ...

1996 LRC Yanmar 2GM20 Fuel Shut Off Solenoid
Does anyone know who manufactured the Fuel Shut Off Solenoid for our engines? One of them is sticking and needs replaced - we've tried multiple adjustments many times with several different yards to no avail. thanks in advance for any responses...

portlights hatches removable insect screens
Magic Dragon is 1996 LRC (hull #56) currently sailing on Lake Erie out of Cleveland Ohio. We want to replace the removable insect screens on the four small hatches or portlights that run along the sides (one in each forward cabin, and one in each hull at back in head and extra cabin). Would apprecia...

Re: Insurance
We just purchased 1996 LRC - hull #54 - now named Magic Dragon. Since we've had difficulties with insurance companies in past arguing over which company had responsibility (tree falls and hits car - is it auto policy or home policy?) we now insist that all policies be through the same provider and a...

Erie Canal bent rudder post Riverside Marina
Magic Dragon (hull #54) just hit a tree in the Erie Canal about 1/4 mile east of Lock 19. We had enough clearance to steer through two more locks and tied up at Riverside Marina owned by Sam Campanaro. Sam opened up at 8:30 pm to help us tie up and told us he'd be able to help out first thing in the...
