Rudder Wobble
Greetings, I have "wobble" in the port rudder and to a lesser extent, in the starboard rudder. Both rudders have been removed, and, in adition to the wobble, I found that there is a tiny bit of flexing where the rudder posts enter the rudders. It appears that water has penetrated the rudde...

Re: Does your PDQ36 have rudder post bearings?
Good luck and safe sailing with your new boat. Out of curiosity I wonder if you can tell me what holds the ruders in place. On my boat (34002 with hydraulic steering), it appears that the quadrant (bolted to the rudder post) is doing the job. I have a little wobble in the port rudder... makes me thi...

WINDLASS
Hello Group: It's time to bite the bullet and install a windlass. I wonder if you care to tell me what kind (brand) of windlass you are using and something about your experience with it. I'd also like to know on which bow and where on the bow you installed it and if there were any issues in blocking...

Re: salon table
Hello Samtheskull - I started a similar post in the classified section. I have a fixed table. It doesn't have drawers. It does have two folding "leaves" that fold over the center section allowing use as a narrow cocktail table or a full sized dining table when opened. I'd be interested in ...

Re: Adjustable salon Table
John and Barbara - If I could find an adjustable table that fits my boat ( one of the originals - 34002) I'd replace the fixed table that is now in the boat. I'd offer a swap, but my table doesn't have drawers. I'd be interested in purchasing yours if it fit. Please let me know if your interested in...

Rub rails and stripes
Hello - while SUNSHINE is on the hard, I'm going to address some "detailing" projects. Has anybody restored the color of the black toe rail? If so, what product(s) did you use? I'm also going to replace the water line and accent stripes. Does anyone know a source for the vinyl tape stripes...

Adjustable salon Table
Gretings Everyone: I am thinking about replacing my fixed salon table with the adjustable model to allow the saloon to be converted to a bed when the grandkids visit. I'd like to hear what folks think of the adjustable table. Is anyone is interested in selling their table or does anyone know the mod...

Re: Anchor fouling when wind/current opposed
Bob: We had 20 knots of wind and an opposing current on the South santee River. When the current changed, the anchor rode wraped as you described. We were using a a 7:1 scope. The anchor is a 33# Bruce. The rode consisted of 20 feet of chain and 5/8 inch anchor line. We changed the chain to 75 feet....

Mast Pumping
Hello Fellow PDQ'ers - In winds of about 15 knots or more, my mast has a tendency to "pump." I've expereinced this on other boats, but not to the extent that it occurs on "SUNSHINE" (34002). It is conceivable that the vibration and pumping motion could cause things to losen and p...

Lock Down Mechanism
Greetings All - We've recently experienced a failure in the port motor lockdown for the high thrust Yamaha 9.9. We're looking for repair procedures/suggestions or sugestions for an alternate way to hold the motor down for reversing.
Even a drawing of the mechanism would be a help!
Thanks,

Steve and Carol - Welcome aboard! We are relatively new to the forum as we purchased Sunshine (34002) in June of 2007. We' have already received help and suggestions from fellow owners. They seem like a great bunch. We saw Algomo tied to a dock in Deltaville while we were anchored in Jackson Creek. ...

Sam and Gina - We installed the Waeco/AB super cold machine yesterday. Wanted to take pictures, but got on a roll and didn't stop to take the pics. Sorry about that! It took twice as long (8 hours) as we anticipated, mostly because we were being methodical. We had the most difficulty installing the ...
