Re: On our way south
Hi Mike, Great Kills is a good place to be stuck. Very easy to visit the city from there on the express bus. You'll need $11 in quarters though, unless you're seniors, then it's half price. But I guess you know that. Well, since you're stuck, try to make the best of it. I'm in Atlantic City. If I ca...

Re: On our way south
Hi, Did that leg last week. We went straight from Great Kills to Atlantic City, about 90nm. It was an easy motor-sail with light winds on the nose, until we got past Barnegat inlet, then the wind picked up to 18-20 and really slowed us down. Got into A.C. around 11pm. If I had it to do again, I woul...

Re: wiring problem
Hi Chet , Thanks for the wiring diagrams. My boat was originally wired to 2 APC Smart Outboard Regulators, that don't seem to be working. I have the literature, but it doesn't tell how to wire the engines. APC seems to be on the rocks, so I can't get any info from them. So, now I'm thinking to just ...

Re: Masthead anchor light.
[quote="David West"]For the past few years my masthead anchor light has not worked but I have been content to use a plug-in light hoisted about ten feet above the Bimini top. This now does not satisfy the US Coast Guard regulations, despite being more suitable for the tight nooks that I us...

wiring problem
Hi, this past spring I picked up a 2001 engine with low hours. It had a tiller, soI had to rewire for remote operation. My engines have a red fused wire for battery charging. I must have connected it incorrectly, because it's not working. None of the wiring diagrams show how this wire is connected. ...

Has the exact symptoms that my engine had, but my problem was a major oil leak. Sorry , I can't offer any other help.

Need wiring help
I just bought a 2001 T9.9 tiller model that I have to convert to remote. I have the elec. harness (6G8-82590-00-00), but I'm not sure where to connect to. If I unplug some existing connections to plug in the harness wires, what happens to the old wires?
Can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks, Marc

Re: What are 9.9's worth?
Hi Mark, I just saw your reply to my question on the value of 9.9 Yamaha's. Sorry I didn't see it before the board went belly up a week or so ago. They are the long shaft, high thrust 4 strokes . I had one offer from a marina for $250 a piece, but I think I would keep them as spares at that price. ...

Re: Need Slip - Chesapeake
Chesapeake Yachting Center, off the Middle River has some slips that are wide enough for a 36. Very nice, gated, pool. Also may have some T-heads. Located in a protected hurricane hole.

You can tell the age by the model number on the engine. I may be interested, depnding on your location.

Re: Dockside comparisons
Just a note on battery voltage. 12.0 volts shows 25% charge, 12.6 is 100% charge. Don't ask me why.
