sewing new canvas

I've been considering replacing all the sunbrella and clear windows. Looked into Sailrite website and like their offerings but I'm not sure about the sewing machines.
Is there a less expensive alternative that will sew sunbrella and the clear plastic windows?

Day 7 Sailed through the night at about 9 knots average and pulled into Ft. Pierce about 0500. We're motoring with the jib as the wind is from the south and I think we just went through Malabar. We'll be pulling into the marina within a couple of hours. Mission Complete. (where have I heard that bef...

Got real rough, lost the flag and almost lost the dinghy. Had to rig the dinghy mounting ropes in the...

TopCat's maiden voyage (with us)

End of day 4 now. Day 1:Left Charlotte harbor and spent the night on the hook just North of Sanibel. Hurricanes must have shifted the sand as the Navionics chart showed a nice inlet with 6 to 8 feet depth but we ended up grounded(depth transducer not working). Jumped in the water and used the anchor...

I love it when I can answer my own questions. Just talked to Harken the car is P/N 1508 the bearings are P/N1526 (two sets needed) and a loader is needed HMR2. The new cars that WM carries only fit the newer style CB track. The new $150.00 car goes back and Harken is sending the new parts for less t...

Jib Traveller on a 32

The jib traveller on my 32 was in bad shape so i pulled it off to take down to west marine looking for a replacement. A couple of the bearings fell out and are lost. WM talked me into a new Harken 1624 car but the car doesn't fit with the bearing retaining wires in and Harken says they can not be re...

I should have mentioned earlier but this is a 32. The shower is a one piece unit. Lower cabinet removal doesn't seem help. There is an access cover (4") near the the head but I still can't get my hand under the shower pan. Do I remove the fitting from the pan by unscrewing the top half and pull...

plumbing in the head or is it plumbing on the brain?

still trying to get our new toy in the water. Lots of little things to fix. The latest two are in the head. The sink drain was loose as I tried to tighten it came apart in my hands. The question here is: in home plumbing I would bed the drain in plumber's putty, is it the same for boats? It was &quo...

Marinas / Dockspace in Brevard County

We purchased PDQ32009 which is still sitting on blocks in Port Charlotte. The work is almost done on her but the marina we were going to use on Merritt Island (we live in Orlando) is not looking good. Basically the spcae he was going rent us is not going to be vacant. While the folks at Charlotte Ha...

Transducers

seperate topic from the AC questions I picked up a new Raymarine system with the 18"Radome, C70 display, DSM30 sounder, and the GPS. For a transducer the sales rep talked me into a P79 shoot through the hull model as the ST60 set already has the speed wheel and a mount throught the hull depth t...

I have one of the Yamaha 2400's. I was trying to run a cruise air portable on my old MacGregor 26X The yamaha ran it fine but the size and weight was overbearing on the little Mac. I ended up buying a Honda 2000 and it ran the ac just fine. Now with My new 20,000 btu I'm pretty sure one Honda 2000 w...

So how do you really feel Sam? :) Thanks for the insight, it makes sense and I will drain the condensate out. As for the intake, I will have to judge that when I get the unit in place, I will likely plumb a new one as it comes with the kit anyway. I was hoping to not install it as the new one will e...
