New jib sheet, main sheet and main halyard

Well, I still have the original jib and main sheets on the boat, and I've put off changing them as long as possible but it is time. I'm not sure every boat came with the exact same running rigging, my jib sheet (original self tacking jib) is a little thicker than the main sheet. Main halyard ...

Re: Air Conditioning Intake

I installed a trough hull under the fridge. I'm going to raise the sill on the compartment just a few inches, which will bring it above the water line and make this into a bullheaded compartment, like that starboard bow. It is also an easy-access spot for the filter. It did add one hole, but I real...

Re: 32' His & Hers for sale

This is hull #4 ... Year 1995, I believe. Port Elgin is on the Canadian shore of Lake Huron. Maybe someone will buy it and sail it to Chicago so Phenix and Anne Z will have a sister? :P

Re: New engines - source? and market for the old ones?

Ah, yes, thanks. I thought he had some way to help deal with the chafing. Thanks, Sam I end up replacing my cables every few years, because of the raising and lowering of them so often. Most times, I have replaced them, I've used the coupling nut mentioned in Drew's blog - http://sail-delmarva.blog...

Trim. About 4 inches. Charging. Leave ALL barreries at alltimes. Why not? If they are really flat, whic should never happen, pull-start. Push-pull. The details are in the blog link. I recomend changing the cables while younare at it. Get coupling nuts tompullmthem through. PM me and I'll send you o...

Re: New engines - source? and market for the old ones?

Drew, I saw in your blog (http://sail-delmarva.blogspot.com/2012/08/new-engines.html) that you trimmed the wood shelf. Do you know how much to trim it? The picture shows it up to a ridge, but I do not have that ridge on my shelf. Also, I have only ordered one new engine, not two. My budget can't jus...

Re: Air Conditioning Intake

Here is the info on the unit itself, from Flagship marine in Stuart, FL. Flagship model: FMAC16R BTU: 16,500 Refrigerant: R417A Amps (compressor): 9.3, Evap-fan: 3.3, Heat: 18.9, Raw water pump: 2.5 I wired it to the panel, no issues. No, the thru-hull is not bulkheaded, it is near the center of the...

Re: Air Conditioning Intake

I have no idea how I missed this post up until now. I installed AC in Chicago-based Phenix PDQ 32 hull #7 in 2000, a year after I bought it. What caused me to do this was a weeklong trip to Michigan in late-August where the daytime high was always in the 90s, sometimes 100! I looked at many options ...

I've wanted to do this since I saw the original post. Your new picture has given me motivation.

What do you use for sheets on the genoa? It looks like it is about a 135%?

I am very sorry to hear about your boat.

How was this determination made? A request on their part or your part? An order on their part ?

Re: Transom Shower Replacement options

Thanks guys. I'll check out Home Depot and see what I can find. It would be great NOT to put in a new shower, as the current enclosure is sealed well. But the lack of a cover is unsightly. As for access to the area behind, I had my wife (she's small) crawl in there a few years ago and tighten a hose...

Re: PHRF rating for 32

Very helpful, thank you. Would you happen to have the mainsail and jib measurements (MGT,MGU,MGM of mainsail and midgirth of jib) that you submitted with your application, just so I can compare it to mine and know what I might expect?

Transom Shower Replacement options

Phenix (32007) has the original factory-installed transom shower. It is a 1995-made Whale - Swim 'n' Rinse Deck / Transom Shower The cover has cracked and come off (it was the one held on by a string, not a hinge) and I can't find a replacement for the cover. And the nozzle is wonky and needs replac...
