ben,

see my comments in your other thread. i noted as tom did here, you'll have a warranty problem, so i wouldn't use them at this time.

i really can't comment on the water issue.

btw, we spent winter in sw fl & keys, but it wasn't humid ;)

hi ben, i agree with terry. i too use 2 micron elements for the reason that he stated. also, the tanks are higher than the fuel pumps so getting fuel is not a problem. 2 caveats: 1) 2 micron elements will VOID your yanmar warranty, so i wouldn't do it at this point in ownership. 2) racors are rated ...

hi sandy,

you can get either kind. i chose the one intop of filter because initial install is simpler. remote mount via t-fitting would be more useful.

hi all, this is a fup to my earlier post. based on my experience with our prior engine (westerbeke) and discussions on a number of cruising sites we set off to florida from connecticut with 2 micron elements in our racor 500 filters. when we arrived in florida we had put 225 hours (1500 sm) on the f...

hi,

thought of something else to check. we had a tank that had too much air in it, rather than propane. if you have a spare tank try swapping. if not borrow a 20lb grill tank and see if problem occurs/ersists.

hi,

we allocate money for maintenance including some money for the things that always break, haulouts, bottom paint, winterization if applicable, summer dockage, dockage for trips (if any).

not exhaustive, but some things to think about.

is it both burners or just one?

ours would light but not stay lit. turned out to be a melted knob. bottom was deformed and not flat. i filed flat until we got new ones.

other thing, is that in cold weather it takes longer to light.

good luck.

not everyone has pss seals. i know we have seals from tidesmarine and they caution against overheating on their website.

soooo, i guess it behooves everyone to know what their boat has for seals.

hi,

seals are water cooled from engine exhaust. not sure how high they need to spin before they overheat. also, not sure in gear locks shaft (i.e. what kind of clutch is it?).

probably chris calvert questions.
