hi alex, first let me say that i'm not an engineer, so take the following for what it's worth. i think that you have 2 problems to solve: 1) water intrusion 2) strength. as to #1, the standard practice is to rout out the core, fill the void with epoxy, and then re-drill the holes thru the epoxy. as ...

this boat looks like it is literally a pdq 32 sailboat w/o the mast. this may have been the original 32 prototype. i think it was for sale in the keys when we bought ours in 2005. the 32 i was on was just like a 34 but smaller. you really need to see a 32/34 to compare to it. someone on list may hav...

worth is in the pocketbook of the beholder :) with that said, i've seen 34s in the low 200K range. if it were me, i'd try to get a ride on a 34 to compare with the 32. i would definetly take the 55hp for a ride to make sure that it will live up to your expectations. another thing. a friend with a 32...

hi, there are at least 2 32 owners active on this list. fwiw, we own a 34 and we've been aboard a 32 so i can give some thoughts. the 32 and early (pre-2004) 34 are not that different. main differences were pdq's learning curve. mechanical systems on 32 seem a bit rougher. 55hp seems a bit low unles...

we've been using the engenius "box" for about a year. it works well. i estimate that we regularly get sites up to 3/4 mile away.

hi all, i figured it was time to update this topic. i didn't like the idea of all the dead bodies from biobor in my tanks, so in the summer of 2006 we took the plunge and started to religously use startron on each fillup. since we started we have travelled approximately 6000 miles. we had some bacte...

hi wally,

i did the modification while the boat was out of water. since it just involves the propnut it could easily be done in the water. just remove the nut from the shaft, the rest is done on land.

so far, it has worked really well. i changed the zincs in va on way south and it worked very well.

we got an email from someone with pdq connections with much the same message as is enclosed in this link.

a sad day for anyone associated with pdq. we can only hope they work thru the financials.

losing zincs on propnuts

hi all, we've always had a problem losing prop zincs. i think the problem stems from the lack of thread locker on the allen screws which hold the zinc to the propnut. some come with a dab of red loctite while others don't. i tried getting a thread locker which could be applied to the allen screws ou...

hi all, prior to our departure south for the winter, i pumped all fuel from front tank into the rear. we then filled both tanks. first night out we anchored and started generator to run the oven. it started but proceeded to "hunt". it was obviously starving for fuel. being a self primer, i...

davit replacement

hi all, one of our davits broke in very choppy conditions this spring. we started considering replacement options. direct replacement was not an option since our 9.5' ab w/15 hp yamaha was borderline weight-wise for the original davit design. at the same time i came to a "no new holes" phi...

convection - microwave oven

hi all,

can anyone give me a make and model of a convection microwave which either you've upgraded to or which came on a newer mv/34?

we currently have a convection oven but would like to try a convection microwave.
