Re: Anchor Rode Options
good catch, Duane... I meant 5/16" chain (I was thinking of the 5/8" nylon line). And thanks for the watchout on using a link to add chain. I will explore that more...

Anchor Rode Options
I've got some concerns about my anchor rode and would appreciate your advice. Bear in mind that my boat operates in the Pacific Northwest. Typical anchorages might be 20-50' depth with rocky or mud bottoms (we don't get a lot of sandy bottoms). We also have to be prepared for occasional heavy winds ...

Re: LP Gas Hose
John & Ortolan (sorry, I don't know your first name), It sounds like both of you did something close to what I would like to do with the LP hose. Please send pictures of how you installed the LP hose on your boat... particularly closeup shots of where and how you routed it thru the locker bulkhe...

Re: BOTTOM PAINT
The most recommended anti-fouling paint brand in my area (Bellingham, WA) is Seahawk. I chose their "Cucote" paint based on a strong recommendation by Seaview boatyard where we do our annual haulout. We had them put 2 coats on last Jan. See: https://www.seahawkpaints.com/product/cukote/

Re: LP Gas Hose
Russ, Very interesting. I'd like to know more. First, what is a "T-top"? Second, could you send some pictures of the hose run and how it goes through the partitions? Our BBQ is powered by one of our two propane tanks via a 12' flexible hose. It is independent of the solenoid switch that co...

LP Gas Hose
Has anyone run figured out how to run the LP gas hose for a BBQ from the propane locker on the flybridge back through the port side seat lockers to an outlet of some kind near the back railing on the flybridge?

Re: Life Line Replacement
We replaced our old (cracked, rusted) vinyl coated lifelines with stainless last year through West Marine. I believe their rigging unit is located somewhere on the East coast. We worked through our local West Marine store -- they shipped all of the old cables and fittings to the riggers. (We kept a ...

Re: Maserator pump
Excellent help on this. Really appreciate the advice. I did get a new Jabsco and installed it yesterday I Friday Harbor. It tested out perfectly, so the pressure is off for now. I'll disassemble the old one to find what happened (I could see some small threads wrapped inside the choppers.) I like th...

Re: Maserator pump
Hi Duane, Ours is a fresh water system, but the macerator is acting like it may be seizing up OR has a damaged impeller. (This is my conjecture; I Do not actually know how these Jabsco units are constructed yet). I've seen the positive comments about the diaphragm style unit; also heard about them f...

Re: Maserator pump
First, thanks for the quick reply. By "gear" I did not mean the impeller. I mean the silver colored gear that can be seen when looking down into the vertical outlet port at the top of the macerator... where the discharge hose attaches. Thus gear has "teeth" and spins when the mot...

Re: Maserator pump
I have a macerator issue right now. Our Jabsco 18590-2092 unit appears to be failing... when turned ON, it sounds like it is bogged down handling a heavy load. It quickly slows down to a crawl... even though the hose from the tank to the motor is empty. So quickly that to avoid overloading the circu...

Re: Maserator pump
Hi Dick, hope you are enjoying Labor Day. We're out in the San Juan islanda having a great time, but also experiencing a macerator issue. See next entry.
