Re: up the mast
I have one of those as well. Gets my 200 pounds up the mast with no problem. A nice bonus is that with the winch bit, it doubles as a way to have electric winches, which I love, especially when sailing short-handed..

Jib Furler
My jib furler is getting very difficult to use. (It is a Selden Furlex 3000). Thus, I plan to take it apart and lube everything. Unfortunately the website instructions are woefully incomplete.
Anybody have some good tips?
Any other ideas on why it gets hard to turn?
Thanks.

Re: Sail Plan for PDQ 36 with measurments
I ordered a main from Dave Calvert. Fit perfectly. He should still have the measurements. Website is : http://www.calvertsails.com/

Tying up to a fixed dock
We have a nice wide slip and a tide change of generally less than up 4 feet or down 4 feet. In order to allow for the rise and fall, the lines obviously have to have slack in them. Unfortunately, due to the slack, the lines sit in the water a lot and get cruddy. Does anyone have a good trick for sus...

We have a little water in the bilge - probably a window leak. Otherwise, we are just fine. Middle River, MD

beating to windward
All in all, we love our boat. However, recognizing that all boats are a product of compromises, I am wondering if anyone has some great tips for improving windward performance, primarily pointing. I understand that is the weak spot of our boats, but am thinking I can do better than tacking thru 110 ...

Re: Anyone have PDQ 36 Sail Plan with Measurements?
I bought a new main 2 years ago from Dave Calvert. As part of the process, I sent him very detailed dimensions. Probably still has my file. His email was:

Pretty sure he still has a website.

Re: Winterizing water system
Thanks guys for all the responses. Couple of comments: 1: yes - a 110 v pump connected to a garden hose does help. I suspect the shop vac would be even better due to the "wand" type attachments. 2. as for "...On the 36, the lowest point should be the water pump...". On my boat, i...

Winterizing water system
Instead of putting the pink anti-freeze in my lines, I decided last year to use an air compressor to blow out all the lines, one fixture at a time. Everything went fine, so I am doing it again this year. One question - what is the easiest way to make sure you get all of the water out of the water ta...

Re: Chesapeake Marina Haul Out/Store - PDQ 36
Call Markley's back and tell them they have hauled my boat for at least 3, maybe 4 years and yours is the same. (Feel free to tell them my name) Unless the large lift broke they should be able to do it with no problem. I believe the owners's name is Miss Connie.

Re: Hold down stuck - did I break something?
This happened to me also............I could not fix it, but Chris Pine at Beacon light marina on Middle River is a Yamaha dealer and somehow he fixed it.
I have used him for several things and found him to be very good.
