Re: Water tanks - Watermaker install?
Thanks for the concern. Our port (and starboard) anchor locker does have a vent at the bottom, and there are no other holes into the cabin from that side. You are correct in that our anchor windlass will be installed on the starboard side. We did purchase one but have not yet installed it. And we al...

Re: Water tanks - Watermaker install?
Thanks Tom. Our propane is stored in the port side anchor locker so, as you mentioned, we don't have a hatch like that.

Re: Water tanks - Watermaker install?
Thanks Gus! Some very helpful pics there.
Can you tell me what the hatch in this pic is for?

Water tanks - Watermaker install?
Although our PDQ 32 is currently on the hard for the winter, we are making plans for our Caribbean cruise beginning late next year. Our boat has just the standard (if there is such a thing) water tank with a 47 gallon capacity. We would like to increase that, and install a watermaker, and have some ...

That sucks about the injury. Sore backs are the worst! Thanks in advance for the pics though.

Re: Shrink wrap vs Custom Tarp
We "just" had ours shrinkwrapped but only because this is the last year we plan on having our PDQ anywhere near snow! If we were going to be around for a while like you, we definitely would have went with a custom tarp.

Re: Jacklines and harnesses. It is hypothermia season up here!
We just did a "medical emergency at sea" seminar and the course instructor pointed out that the number one cause for boating deaths in our area is hypothermia. Although we are done sailing for the season we know that we need to rig up jacklines and acquire harnesses for next season. This p...

We had a gate added to our bridle plate. This should hopefully solve the deployment issues we were having.

Re: Series drogue attachment?
Thanks Eric. I'll try to come up with some less-emotional topic next time I post :) I have read about the use of a warp of line as you describe. On Maxingout.com the use of an Abbott Drogue is explained and that seems like a good idea too. My real question was about attaching the drogue (warp). You ...

Series drogue attachment?
Perhaps this is premature as we are still a long way off from doing any offshore sailing but I have been doing some reading on storm management and the use of a series drogue. I understand that it would need to be attached to the stern at a VERY strong point(s). Has any PDQ owner deployed one, or pl...
