Engine Panels

After a lot of problems with my panels at the inside helm, I have decided to replace them. Recently, the starboard engine engaged the starter while the engine was running and ruined the starter. This is the second starter. The first time I blamed it on the starter or the relay and replaced them both...

Re: Service Interval Alarm Yenmar 110/100 Engine

Well, since no one has replied, I will put in my two cents. There has to be a way to cancel the alarm, and I suspect it is similar to an automotive service interval light. One of those things like: "Power off, hold down a button while powering back on, then continue to hold the button for anoth...

Re: Microwave Addition

So, I installed the microwave without really checking the power it required. On the back of the unit, and online, it claims to use 1050 watts. I have a 1000 watt pure sine inverter. I thought I had really blown it until I looked up the specs on the inverter. The amount of power it puts out varies wi...

Re: Microwave Addition

Right. I have a pure sine inverter. I will double check the rating on the back.

Microwave Addition

After going through the trials of the convection microwave, we finally installed an ENO propane oven in the space where the convection microwave was installed. I can't say why we had so much trouble with the convection microwave, but two engineers could just not figure it out. The ENO has worked fin...

Re: Deck Storage

Nick, If your 2005 is like mine, the dinghy davits have probably been reinforced. Even without the reinforcement, a kayak does not weigh very much. As for bicycles, I have seen a 2003 pdq that used the aft bench seat for a bike rack. They removed the cushions and then placed a PVC half pipe (split d...

Re: Propane Cooktop Issue Revisited

I am the new owner of Mishigas which had become Perigrine. We’ve had her three years. I guess someone fixed this problem along the way. We have had no problems.

Re: New Owner PDQ41

Clay, I used the Magnum charger/inverter. I went with a 1200 Watt model because I think 2500 is overkill. I don’t see a compatibility issue. Solar and Charger both charge the same batteries and do not “fight” each other. I just installed each one as if the other did not exist. It is possible that so...

Re: Aft Bimini

There is a fly bridge bimini also by Atlantic Towers. It is of similar construction. You can see the support for it in the first picture if you look closely. Both are great places for solar panels. We currently have almost 1000 watts of solar up there.

Aft Bimini

Well, I spent the big bucks and had Atlantic Towers build a hard aft bimini. Here are some pics.

Re: Berth access modifications??

That’s a tough one. Easiest fix is a new staircase over the top of the step and the seat that exists now. My wife is 5’2” tall and we are pushing 70 so it is getting a little more difficult. The most difficult maneuver is getting from the dinghy to the boat. So far bed has been OK for us. Good luck ...

Re: New Owner PDQ41

Boogie Shoes, To the best of my knowledge, only ten PDQ41's were built. So you may not have too much response on the forum from PDQ41 owners. However, parts are parts. As to the water heater, I have never repaired one. I just replace them. The solar panel charge controller is much easier than in the...

Re: DISENGAGE TRANSMISSION AND CAN'T SHIFT STARBOARD SHIFTER AT THE LOWER HELM

As you all probably know, I needed a little experimentation on this. Was not too obvious, and the shifter was stiff to pull out, but I was able to rev up in neutral. I think all PDQs work this way.

Re: DISENGAGE TRANSMISSION AND CAN'T SHIFT STARBOARD SHIFTER AT THE LOWER HELM

Hello all, Just looking at this thread. I have a 2005 M/V 68. As far as I can tell, I cannot increase RPM in neutral. If I want to increase RPM, I have to be in gear. I will look again as soon as this next tropical storm passes. If there are no owners out there that have this issue, I assume that I ...
