I also have a ATN climber. I've had it for 11 years, and it works great. I could care less how I look going up. I'm sure it's ugly.

Re: 9.9 won't hold RPM

This is a "longshot", but it happened to me. Check the oil level. I had a leak that I was unaware of. When the oil level gets too low, The engine speed drops back to idle, and when you try to give it more gas , nothing happens. I went crazy with this for almost 2 days, until someone got me...

Re: T9.9 lower end removal questions

Probably ran into very soft silt, that didn't stop the engine. It just kept running and sucking in silt.
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

Re: Inverter Charger selection

Just curious, but what happened that you had to replace it? I pay no attention to my charger, as long as it's working. I have an 18 YO Trace.

Re: Catch 22 on the Chesapeake

Hi, I've owned hull #21 for 14 years. All the advice you got is spot on. Since I solo about 90% of the time, I have to set things up before I start a tack. The first thing is to move the main traveler car about 1.5' to windward of center, while letting out the main sheet so that the boat will not sl...

Re: 44 mainsail drop

I had that problem for about the first 4-5 years that I owned the boat, until I checked the halyard size. I found they were a slightly thicker metric size. I changed them to the smaller american size and the sails worked perfectly. I couldn't believe that I never thought of checking that for all tho...

Hey Chet, Just realized you went to the "dark side". Congradulations. I guess you know what this means.
No more $90 props for you.

Best of Luck,

Re: Has anyone modified the nav-station for a seat?

My boat came with a cusomized chart table that actually slides out about 2', and will hold a large NOAA chart laid out flat. The table is about 4" high, and will hold rolled charts underneath. I do not have a pilot berth. The entire starboard side is cabinets, with a funky seat that folds out f...

Re: House Bank Batteries

Hi, Back in 1997 I paid $800 for the 4 gels. If I had to replace them now, they would cost about $1300.
Chet, why did you replace yours? Are your new ones gels?

Re: Chesapeake Marina Haul Out/Store - PDQ 36

Hi Spencer, I hauled out for several years at the Charlestown marina, across from Northeast, MD, on the Northeast River. Another place to try would be Markleys Marina on the Middle River. Both of these places could haul you. Before you commit to a place, go and measure the travelift, and slipway you...
