Re: Port Tachometer and hour meter not working.
My lower tachs show hours and work fine. My upper tachs only show RPM's with occasional flickers of hours data. Has anyone had success applying anti-corrosion fluid to the wire connection at the back of the upper tachs?

Re: novacool fridge
Since I got a temperature activated variable speed fan, I'm going to install inside the fridge "hole" on the backside of the Aux fuel locker.

Re: Oil consumption for Yanmar engines
3 years ago when we bought our 2006 PDQ, we had what I considered a serious oil consumption issue on our port engine - at high RPM's, it would consume 1 qt of oil in about every 8-10 hours! It took awhile to diagnose it. Our local Yanmar esperts finally found a gasket that had been compromised insid...

Re: novacool fridge
What do you guys have in that deck locker where the aux fuel tank is located? Mine is essentially empty -- we keep deck chairs and the spare backup anchor there.

Re: novacool fridge
That hole in the wall of the microwave cabinet is a direct access to the fridge space. You can touch the starboard sidewall of the fridge just inside the hole. Opposite the fridge's sidewall is the port sidewall of the Auxiliary diesel fuel tank locker. That's the wall where Russ installed his fan a...

Re: novacool fridge
Russ, Yes... please send a pic of the fan location if you can. I'm pretty sure I know where it is mounted, but a pic would help. I'm assuming it it mounted high on the PORT side wall between the fridge and the aux. diesel fuel tank locker on the forward deck. (we do not have a genset). That location...

Re: novacool fridge
This has been a useful dialogue. I’m going to upgrade the fridge wiring from 14 or 10 AWG (tinned). Question... should this be done on both the + and - wires? And, for those that have already done this, is the run for one wire about 35’? I’m also going install a exhaust fan.. both the fridge and for...

Re: Fresh Water water flow PDQ 34
I don't know how or when or by whom our water filter was installed. I assume it was done by PDQ. It is mounted on the starboard wall in the cabinet underneath the refrigerator/freezer. Water goes directly from the tank through the standard Shurflo 10" 5mil carbon filter to the water pump locate...

Re: Cabinet Storage?
A related question... has anyone added shelves to any of your berth storage cabinets on the Port or Stbd sides? Not the tall clothing lockers... just the cabinets. Some of the cabinets are rather tall and leave a lot of space unused when storing clothes, etc. We've tried some stackable racks that wo...

Re: Cabinet Storage?
I've heard that too but have never seen a picture of it. It's hard to imagine how a washer/dryer unit could fit into that 8-9" deep cabinet... I wonder if the bench behind the cabinet had to be modified to accommodate the depth of the washer/dryer.

Re: Cabinet Storage?
It's on my WISH list... Given that we are facing replacing our failing 2.5 years old Northstar SMS480 AGM batterires right now, we won't do it until next Fall for sure.

Re: Cabinet Storage?
Duane, have you ever considered creating an identical storage cabinet to the right (facing) of your beverage cabinet?

Re: Cabinet Storage?
This is interesting... I'm getting the impression that our boats are set up differently... Here's a pic of the beverage cabinet on our boat. So, what do you guys have on yours?
