My guess is that this will record total water used. Once you fill the tank you'll know how much you've used and, therefore, how much is left.
Let us know how it works out.

Re: Prop zinc sleeves/screws
Excuse my ignorance, but I've replaced the prop zincs 2x on my MV34 #029. I use the "bullet" zincs that are held to the shaft end by an allen head bolt. The first time, I had to drill the holes larger because the old bolts stripped the threads. Other than that we have had no problems in 60...

Securing a Dingy to the Hull
Getting on and off the dingy can be dicey for our non-boating guests. Does anyone have suggestions for securing the dingy to the hull so it will rise/fall with the boat and not drift in or out? Ideally this would work with our kayak as well as the dingy. I envision some kind of flexible clamps on th...

Re: PDQ Engine Mounts for 75hp Yanmars
Barry Controls in Massachusetts specializes in vibration control mountings of all types. I've left several messages but have not heard back yet. I'll post my findings as to whether they have engine mounts for the Yanmar/PDQ installation.

PDQ Engine Mounts for 75hp Yanmars
My starboard engine needs new motor mounts. It transmits significantly more vibration to the hull than the port engine. Does anyone know: 1. Are these standard Yanmar parts? 2. Can you replace just the rubber or is the whole mount a single unit? Once the above is known, I plan to lift the front off ...

Re: Dripless shaft seals
Long story long - - almost home to Ocean City, Maryland from Punta Gorda, FL and, based on recommendations received, decided to run the yanmar 75's at 90% WOT to get the temps up and the 'carbon' out. Fran noted darker smoke coming from the stbd engine so we idled to take a look. Seems the red-boot ...

Re: Recommendations for mid-Bahamas boat layup?
Visited marinas in Nassau. Did not find any that provide dry storage. Boats are hauled, maintained, and put back in the water - - dry space is at a premium. Dock space for storage was cheapest at Nassau Harbor Club, if you can call $1.50/ft/day cheap. I did find a dock at Sandyport, about 6 mi west ...

Re: Recommendations for mid-Bahamas boat layup?
Thanks Terry.
I'll be in Nassau in a week or so and will check out the yard you mentioned. I'll also check with the government to clarify the rules/regulations they impose. I'll post my findings.

Recommendations for mid-Bahamas boat layup?
The trip south has been great, but rather than turn and head home we'd like to store our MV34 somewhere in the mid-Bahamas and continue our journey south in the fall. Prefer to have it hauled and blocked, but would consider a dock. Security is important. Any suggestions? Bill & Fran Carlson MV 3...

That solution makes sense. And chlorine is not good for any part of the environment.

Re: Holding tank pump out- help
Thanks for the ideas. I went to a do-it-yourself pump out in Miami, and it pumped out very little - - enough to give us another day of use. Then i read the posts and took ALL the hose loops off the pump laid them on the dock and it worked like a charm.
