obviously this pandemic has presented many marinas issues and i am discovering there aren't many that can accommodate the width of our vessels as i am learning. Does anyone have any suggestions on marinas in the keys from marathon to key West that they enjoyed staying?

Re: Bahamas crossing
my best bet bob on what you thought was cotton in the pickup lube was that white bilge paper they give you when you fuel up....people have to be careful not to let that paper snag or accidently let some go down the gas tube while refueling. Just a tip to think about when fueling up.

Re: Fuel Pick up tube problem
a simple way to isolate a possible fuel restriction would be to bypass the filter with some diesel gas from a portable tank. If bypassing the filter system which would also include the tank being bypassed as well you can check if the engine runs strong and at high rpm......if the engine runs fine fr...

Re: Flybridge enclosure
i have the total enclosure but I have a hard top to anchor it to. The sides and front are separate sections that can be removed according to how much breeze you want. The bottom is anchored into the gelcoat with snaps. Mine is getting weathered though now and some panels will be needing replacement

Dingy motor hoist
Does anyone know where to get a motor hoist for the dingy? What research I have done shows very expensive systems. Maybe something to clamp on a rail that can be portable. Would love suggestions

Re: stuffing box lock nut
The stuffing box for the prop shaft is what I was referring to. Just want to slow the drip a bit. The lock nut is on there pretty tight so as to loosen it so I can tighten it a bit. I want to put off repacking them with new cord until I pull her out in the winter for a bottom job. I know they need t...

stuffing box lock nut
has anyone had any problem freeing up the lock nut on the stuffing box to make adjustments? Mine seems to be frozen on pretty tight. Any guidance in this area would appreciated.....or maybe I should just leave it alone?....

Re: bleeding process when changing fuel filters
thinking I soloved the filter problem by changing them I still had the restriction and thought maybe it could be in the fuel injectors or motor so I tried to eliminate the motor as a possible problem all together.. I simply used a 2.5 gallon can of diesel and routed the fuel feed into the racor into...

Re: bleeding process when changing fuel filters
my update to my fuel filter problems and some advice to others who may or may not check this area when changing filters. I had a fuel restriction problem. My first thought was to change the filters and hoped that solved the problem while I was underway. As my copilot was running us home on one motor...

I change both filters and still the same problem as it wont get past 1800rpm. I check and find the feed tube is clear and has n...

Re: bleeding process when changing fuel filters
thanks Mac. that is a awesome guideline and I am sure will be helpful to a lot of people....I sorta figured it out on my own but your way seems way easier. I would advise people to write this down because you never know when you may have to change filters on the go.....I like most everyone carry ext...
