Re: Florida loop or "Smuggler's Run".... Places to stop?
Ft. Myers has a nice River District area to visit. Pelican Bay at the north end of Cayo Costa is a great anchorage. You can go ashore with a dink ($2 per person cash park fee) and take the free tram to the gulf beach. There is a manatee pocket south of the park docks for dinghy exploration. Tween Wa...

I have to say, once again, how terrific it is for you to share all that detail with the community. After reading it, I doubt many of us would dare try it ourselves.

Re: Decal striping removal, replacement, sourcing
I can attest that it is not all that hard. I used 3 wheels to get ALL the striping off. Putting on new just takes patience and care.

Re: Hose From Heat Exchanger to Turbo on 75 hp Yanmar
Mike,
I have the 75s with one original hose and it has a very slight kink. I was not surprised as the hose it short and offset, as you know. I replaced one and just used good quality marine hose. I have no idea about specifics at this point. It, too, has a slight kink.

Just FYI - we have owned our boat since Jan 2015 and never seen a drop of leakage, so have never touched the glands on the rudder posts.

Re: Northern Lights Genset Brushes
When you say you stopped getting voltage, that implies zero output. I had that happen once and found a fuse in the control box was blown. Replacing that restored operation and it has worked fine for several years.
Are you sure the brushes are your problem?

Re: Hurricane Mooring Aft Cleats
Thinwater, I surmise you are illustrating using the existing cleat on the gunwale but routing the line such that it does not foul the dinghy. That still leaves the line stretching across the deck where one could trip on it. By using the added cleats, that possibility is eliminated. Fortunately, on m...

Re: Hurricane Mooring Aft Cleats
I added cleats to the curved transition from the inner hulls to the transom. The fiberglass there seemed substantial and I used large, thick fender washers as backing plates. I have never heard of them being supplied by the factory.

Re: 75 HP Fuel burn
If you do the math, that equates to approximately 6.5 gph. For comparison, because we are happy doing 7.5 kts almost all the time, we burn 2.2 gph, which is about 3.9 statute miles per gal.
