Re: PDQ OWNERS GET TOGETHER IN ANNAPOLIS ?

Not sure about a gathering this year but we did attend in 2010. Although there were a bunch of owners present and we had a good time, we were the only ones to bring our boat along. Here is our PDQ 32 rafted up to Eric and Bonnie's 36: http://www.zerotocruising.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/pdqraftu...

Re: Engine Cables

This is exactly what I came here looking for today. I have to change the throttle and shift cables (both engines) in the next week or two. Thanks so much!

Re: Kayak storage

Having a kayak would be cool. We have jerry cans lashed on deck where Drew keeps his though. We'd need a different solution.

Re: Challenge : From beginner to fulltime liveaboards.

As was mentioned above, my wife Rebecca and I decided to sell everything, buy a boat and head out cruising. At the time we had never even sailed a boat before. We left Canada exactly one year ago today and are currently sitting in Grenada (watching a potential hurricane a bit north of us). :) Most o...

Re: Replacement cushions for forward bench on 32

It was hilarious (in retrospect) trying to get the cushion back on board while under sail. We sailed past it twice at about 6 knots! Finally we dropped the sails and used the engines to position the boat just to leeward of the cushion, allowing it to drift down on to the transom step where Rebecca w...

Re: Replacement cushions for forward bench on 32

Sorry, no replacement here. Our cushions snap on along the leading edge but that is not enough in high winds. We lost one overboard while under sail in 25 knots and got to practice our COB (cushion overboard) drill. It wasn't that fun but the cushion did live to see another day. We now remove them a...

Re: Zincs - sheered bolts off:(

Thanks Mike. I just had to use a similar setup to remove the bolt that sheered off of our jib traveler. I sure hope this is easier. I'll be waiting until I pull the engines, that's for sure!

Re: 44 mainsail drop

We have new running rigging coming and I believe the halyards will have a little bit smaller diameter than what we currently have. I do hope that fixes the issue.

Re: 44 mainsail drop

We're only on a 32 but even if we're dead into the wind, we still need to go to the mast and pull the sail down by hand. Perhaps rigging a downhaul would solve this problem.

Zincs - sheered bolts off:(

Has anyone, other than me, ever sheered off the bolts holding the zincs onto the yamaha 9.9s? I broke the first one off when tightening on the new zinc. The second broke off when trying to remove the old zinc. It really didn't feel that I was turning them too hard. Perhaps I just got excited because...

Re: How narrow can a slip be and be OK?

The slip where we kept our 32 was 18' wide. We got pretty good at backing her in.
