Sandy,
We keep our Honda EU2000 in the aft cockpit locker when not being used, putting it by the swim steps when in use. If you are considering the Westerbeke 3kW, check into the SAFE CO model. Westerbeke says that it is brand new and many distributors don't have it yet.

Re: A/C on a 32
A possible solution is a Westerbeke - www.westerbeke.com - which makes a 3kW and a 5kW with a SafeCO feature. They both run at low RPMs, 1800 or 2200.

Re: manual pump for head overboard pumpout
Cat Tales was supplied with Whale Gusher Urchin manual pumps, as I presume most others were as well. They are the black pumps with a blue collar holding the diaphram. You can order replacement parts from West Marine or go to http://www.whalepumps.com for locating distributors. When the blue collar b...

Re: Fiberglass propane tanks
We purchased the 10# steel tanks and coated them in epoxy, for about half the cost of fiberglass tanks. http://domsoutdoor.com/product.asp?pn=1-062521&bhcd2=1225590224 Another site for fiberglass tanks is: (they are about $20 less, with a small discount if you buy 2) http://www.rvsupplywarehouse...

Re: What Bottom Paint do you use?
Interlux Micron Extra is an ablative paint and will go right over Petit. We've used Micron for the past two paintings and it has held up perfectly. Two coats lasted 2 1/2 years and we had to lightly scrub the bottom only once during that time after Cat Tales sat at the dock for more than a month. An...

Inverter/Charger Interferance
When the Xantrex Freedom 2000 inverter/charger is on (either in charge or inverter modes) we get a buzzing sound through the AM radio. It only happens when on AM stations, never on FM/CD/MP3/DVD etc. Interestingly it won't do it when receiving a charge from the solar panels, but any other time the b...

Re: Quarterly Newsletter Revival
A great idea! One of the main reasons Kelly & I purchased a PDQ was because of the pride PDQ owners displayed. It feels as though some of that pride has weened and I think a newsletter will help voice the affection many of us have for our boats. Let us know where we can send pics and stories.

Re: Hull #12 Possible Fresh Water Leak???
So I got my info all backward in the previous post. The parts came from Lewis Marine (01/2007). They deal with wholesale accounts, but they were gracious enough to grant me a "courtesy account".
3" Clear Tank Cover = Part #018-0048 ($8.93)
Cover O-ring = Part #023-0052 ($2.05)

Re: Hull #12 Possible Fresh Water Leak???
Hopefully PDQ used the same tank manufacturer for all years, but double check your tank just in case. We have a single 85 gallon tank, with a 3" clean out (I think, but will double check today). Kracor was helpful with info on the clean out port cover. Cover and o-ring come together when ordere...

Re: Hull #12 Possible Fresh Water Leak???
Sam, We had the same problem with inspection port. After replacing the o-ring it still leaked. Turns out the inspection port was cracked where the threads meet the top of the cover. It happens when the tank expands from being filled to the max. When I ordered the replacement port cover, the tank com...

I tried attaching a .pdf file for the B104 controller, but the forum won't allow it. Give me your email address and I'll send it to you.

Check out Pompanette (they now own Bomar). I believe we have the Bomar Extruded Low profile 1000 series hatches, but not sure of the size. There is an online catalog on their website, and this is the link for the spare parts: http://www.pompanette.com/pompweb.nsf/731d6514ff5a8481852567be000745b2/751...

Re: Princess two burner stove issues
The pressure should remain constant, but air can enter the line before the solenoid. For example, I installed a Y-valve on my tank, allowing the BBQ grill and boat system to be connected at the same time from one tank. My system held pressure after the solenoid, but I kept getting air in the lines. ...

Re: Princess two burner stove issues
Check to see if any air has entered the propane lines. Turn the burners on full and listen for the crackling of air in the flame. You'll probably have to manually hold in the burn knobs. If it is present, back off the burner valves until the crackling stops to bleed the air out of the line. Also, if...

Cruising speed
Anyone know the cruise speed & max speed under power and what the burn rates are of the 29hp Yanmars. Even though these are all sailboats, we know how much we end up motoring. We are not financially ready, but I'm arming myself (in preparation of my wife's objections) with info for when we have ...
