Dinghy outboards
Any comments, pros/cons, on 2 stroke vs 4 stroke outboards when purchasing new? I'm debating because of the weight, and the fact that in the Bahamas anc Caribbean you don't see many 4 strokes yet. Would appreciate comments from those cruising the areas and with either type of motor.

I know I'm late to this discussion, but as of July Simon at PDQ says they MIGHT make a 36 as a custom order but it is being discontinued. He sighted the age of the design and falling sales. Any comments the pros/cons of a 2 stroke vs 4 stroke engine when buying new? My concerns is that as we have traveled in the Bahamas and Caribbean you seldom see 4 stroke engines. Any concern about service or parts etc in that environment? Seems to me, except for enviromental issues, the 2 stroke mig...

I'm very interested in this topic. Any other comments out there. We are looing at a 11'8" Nautica that comes with a 25 hp Yamaha. The factory says it will fit but after reading a post I'm a little concerened. Any comments appreciated. Kenny
