Hurricane Mooring Aft Cleats
Getting ready for another hurricane season. Just had some new piles placed. I had planned on cross tying the back to the lower inside cleats on the stern, but after looking at some pictures I did not see them on other boats. Just wondering if they were added as an after market item, If so, I may wan...

Re: Flotation
Couldn't find the post on the hurricane. Maybe someone else recalls the incident.

Flotation

Heat Craft Cabin Heater Circulation Pump
Whenever I run the cabin heater circulation pump it make a loud noise and vibrates a lot. Since I bought the boat it has away been this way, so I don't use it. Living in Louisiana I really don't need it, but I like to have everything broken on the boat fixed. Does anyone else have a similar issue wi...

Bottom Paint
I bought my PDQ 34 last year from Cape Cod, MA. The guy that had the boat hauled it out yearly for storage during the winter and then would get the bottom painted before launching around mid April. He used Petit Hydrocoat which is an ablative water base copper paint. Oil based bottom paints aree pro...

Re: Yanmar 75hp to 100 hp upgrade
I thought about the same thing, changing to 150 Hp outboards. Wouldn't do it until I would have to. Certainly would be easier to work on and replace, if needed, and would probably cruise at 20+ knots. It seems like once the boat starts to plain it doesn't take much more Hp to push it faster. Draw ba...

Re: Yanmar 75hp to 100 hp upgrade
I don't think the 100s are available from Yanmar. Probably would need to go to the 110s which I heard are slower rev engine.

Re: Upgrading from Raymarine ESeries to Raymarine Axiom
Thanks for the information. I thought it wouldn’t be easy. It seems like purchasing the parts and pieces is only a fraction of the cost. Having to hire a electronic technician to help with the system is a significant cost. I was told by the previous owner that I would need a separate antenna with th...

Upgrading from Raymarine ESeries to Raymarine Axiom
Has anyone upgraded from the E series chart plotters to the newer Axiom series? I am wondering how much work is involved. The previous owner had a new Raymarine Digital radar installed and I have been told that it will only works with a Raymarine chart plotter. I am hoping the upgrade in chart plott...

Re: Aft Bimini
Hi Alan, Can you send it to my email dstrecker89@icloud.com. Thanks. I went to Coastal Metals facebook page. They have several pictures of the framing. The problem I am having is getting someone near New Orleans that can do the framing. The virus is making things difficult. Shipping would be a probl...

Alan,
From what I recall it looks a lot like Dick’s boat, Beth’s father.

Re: Aft Bimini
Hi Alan,
Like that your aft Bimini extends over the rear seat and has only 3 points of support. Do you find that the one support in the back is sufficient in high cross winds? Where did you have done? I like how they did the solar panel support.

Re: Aft Bimini
Hi Expatriate
I did get a price from them some time ago after I saw some pictures you posted. Very nice indeed, but eventually I want to save some money for electronic upgrade as the E120s are really slow and the depth finder doesn’t read in shallow water.

Re: Aft Bimini
Thanks for the designs for the aft bimini. I was just out looking at the boat and I don't think I will be able to lower the cockpit bimini as planned. My other thought is to place an additional or extend the bimini about 12" and either at a lower elevation or on a slant in front of the cockpit ...

Aft Bimini
Looking to install an aft bimini. We keep the boat in the New Orleans area. Would appreciate any recommendation on the coverage and any pictures of existing aft bimini. I am also planning on modifying the cockpit bimini by extending it forward and lowering it a bit to provide more shade, especially ...
